Subject: Where are the AMG renders?

There are so few posting of AMG. Did the EULA scare everyone away?

She was less than $20 with the introductory cost and my Platinum Club discount.

I am not very confident about posting my pictures, but for those of you are deciding whether to buy or not, I thought you would like to see more of her.

I personally think it is a great value. It has 5 makeup maps, 2 new smile morphs, and great eyes. The eyes and body have a more realistic built-in, subtle asymmetry which is refreshing from the standard perfection. Some of the morphs I plan on incorporating into other V3 characters.

Sorry, my spandex chest morphs hide her true figure slightly.

Render credits: AMG, Anton's Antiques, Koz's Pony, and Second Skin.

Anyone else have pics? Does anyone else like the AMG package?

Here is more of a closeup.

In the first render I have her eyes just a bit off. And her hands look a little awkward. My poor poser-ing skills. I know I shouldn't point out the flaws, but it drives me nuts.

This will give a better idea of skin texture. And that she doesn't have to have a lazy eye and double-jointed fingers. LOL.

Hair is DAZ Flip style 2

Dave-So ( ) posted Wed, 28 May 2003 at 7:56 AM

it may be the lighting, but her skin looks waxy or something...It looks like this on other images I've seen as well. I was waiting for this to come out, but the images I've seen so far, haven't convinced me to buy this product. please don't take offense Carcinogen, as I don't mean to offend your work, just the AMG character :)

i bought it and my opinions: the texture is great but very much depending on the lights. the morph looks good in my opinion if you set it to a value about 0,7 , the 1.0 value makes her face a bit hard. the eyeballs need some tweaking ,they are a bit deep inside the sockets.

Thanks for sharing the renders, Carcinogen. I noticed 2 new AMG smile morphs listed on the product page - have you done any pictures of them?

Here's a mix of her 2 new smiles. :)

The smiles are nice

Dizzie ( ) posted Wed, 28 May 2003 at 3:20 PM

I totally agree with Dave....the skin textures (all the renders I've seen plus the ones on the product page)look pretty bad to me...not realistic at all.......to me they don't even come close to the ones that came with V3...so for me $20 for the morphs is a bit high...:>)

Puntomaus ( ) posted Wed, 28 May 2003 at 3:55 PM

Wrong - I opened both textures in my graphic program and the AMG textures is of a much better quality than the V3 texture. Much more detail and not that blurred.

If my opinion is wrong, then let's see a decent up-close render of AMG Puntomaus ...

leather-guy ( ) posted Wed, 28 May 2003 at 4:04 PM

Thanks for the additional pictures, Carcinogen. I guess my focus is a bit different from most. Even discounting the other features of the package (textures, celebrity appeal, etc), I think $20.00 for a couple of really charming smile morphs is pretty reasonable. Most of the "new" characters I see (lovely as they are) are optimized for the default expression - most of the pictures I see in the galleries seem to be the same. I've always felt the best feature in any woman is her smile. Anything to enhance V3's capabilities in this area is to be seized upon with glee. I don't do "portrait" type renders, or even many close-ups because most of the expressions look static and plastic on nearly all characters. The variations possible with poser are actually pretty sparse. It's like if people only had 2 or 4 muscles around their mouths to smile with instead of the dozens of complex and subtle permutations and interactions we're used to seeing in faces all around us every day. True, there's only so much possible with a 3D mesh, but I still hope for new enhancements in every product I see. Guess I'm kind of predictable, I'm a sucker for a new character with good smile morphs, "power" eyebrows, or strong character (or realistic freckles).

I made a quick render of her face and that is not the morph as it is, I changed her eyes and lips a bit and she has pointy ears. The specular color is original set to a light grey and I guess this is causing what you call waxy skin. I applied the *skin default* matpose from the V3 matposes and that took the hightlight away. I renderd in ProPack.

Another one - default bodyshape but with slightly modified face. Rendered in P5 with the P4 render thingy. Lost a bit of detail because of the compression and I just noticed the alternate specular thingy doesn't look that good on her eyes.

here's one of the face I did in P4 Kozaburo's hair with the Fantasy Collar w/Laurie S' texture. The lighting is a bit (alright more than a bit) too strong but shows a combination of both smile morphs. This render reminds me slightly of Vanna White

Carcinogen ( ) posted Wed, 28 May 2003 at 9:54 PM

LOL. She does definitely remind me of Vanna. The eyes are just a bit different, but I definitely see the resemblance. I also think that tgeisel's looks like Cheryl Ladd from the old Charlie's Angels?

XENOPHONZ ( ) posted Wed, 28 May 2003 at 10:14 PM

Nice renders, but------

I have serious problems with the EULA.

I won't be purchasing the character for that reason.

However, if you can live with the EULA, have at it.

dialyn ( ) posted Wed, 28 May 2003 at 10:29 PM

The revised EULA may be helpful to read. The requirements are not as strict as originally outlined. I'm not buying because all the renders I've seen seem as if they could have been done just as well with other textures. And I'm cheap. Well, no, actually I'm poor. But it amounts to the same thing.

nakamuram ( ) posted Wed, 28 May 2003 at 10:32 PM

Can someone post render of AMG's body in Zero-pose, please? I would like to make a comparison with other characters.

Crescent ( ) posted Wed, 28 May 2003 at 10:49 PM

No offense, but there's a lot of mid-America Caucasian textures out there. AMG looks nice, but I need more variety. The morphs are also nice, but nothing I desparately need.

FishNose ( ) posted Thu, 29 May 2003 at 5:12 AM

I can get so much more for my cash. She looks like a very slightly modified V3, that's all. :] Fish

Caly ( ) posted Thu, 29 May 2003 at 9:21 AM

With the Platinum Club Discount and introductory sale, her price tag is actually -$19.58 which is low for all that comes in her package. Some people sell textures with no make-up options alone for more than that amount, nevermind the morphs. DOES THE TEXTURE HAVE THE PUBIC ZONE? I ASK THIS ONLY FOR CURIOSITY AND TO SEE HOW MUCH DAZ CAN HAVE SPENT TO "HIRE" ANNE MARIE.... SINCE THE EULA I WILL NOT SURELY MAKE "HARD" RENDERS IF I BUY THE PRODUCT THANK YOU IN ADVANCE ;-)

nakamuram ( ) posted Thu, 29 May 2003 at 9:07 PM

This is AnneMarie's (DAZ) response to my question regarding AMG's body: "Anna Marie Goddard if(sic) faithfully cloned from the real thing." I've asked them for better body renders, but so far no pics, just: "Thanks for the feedback and suggestions to our DAZ team." I agree with Fish-Nose -- AMG is just a slightly tweaked V3. I challenge them prove use wrong!
