Subject: V3 Face question

Hi gang, its been a while since I've posted a question here. (Been getting the hang of things finally!) But now I have run into a little snag. I have been playing with some faces for a V3 package and I was wondering how exactly to do it. Okay let me explain. Now everyone knows how the V3 comes with no morphs and the head and body pack are used to inject morphs. Well, I have created a V3 copy to use that I already injuected a bunch of morphs to but not ALL of them. The faces I created with those head morphs work fine for my copy figure but when I try to use it on the original V3 that comes with no morphs, nothing happens. So I guess my question is. How can I create a package of faces if not everyone has V3 loaded with the same morphs as I started out with. Boy I hope that makes sense. I also noticed the face INJ faces. Does that work differently? Hope someone can help, if you understand what I am even saying. :) Thanks! Annette

The same morphs that you used on your loaded v# have to be present in your clean V3. The most efficient way (right now) to do this is to get the Injection Pose Builder from DAZ, and use that to create INJ and REM files for the character face poses. It's very simple to use, and makes this whole process a breeze. Failing that, open up a character or face pose that you already have, which uses the injection process and see how it works. You can then create a template file to insert your own readscripts. This tutorial and explaination is the best I've seen so far ::points at link::

i do it this way....

1)create a V3 with all the headmorphs injected; save to a library as "face figure;"

2)create a character using "face figure;"

3)spawn a morph to the figure; i also save the dial poses to a library for a later date....

4)save the new figure--either to a new library or as a .pz3

now i can use a "morph manager-style" program to delete any unwanted/uneeded shaping morphs from the head (or just use the appropriate "remove all" poses); leaving me a V3 with the new face....

this probably takes longer than momcat's (hi momcat!) method, but it works for me....

I have done that. I use a fully injected v3 as a base and morph from there. Spawn my final morph taget then REM it all and save to the lib as a new character. My problem is all the latent morph dials. Someone suggested hacking the cr2. I hate changing the thread topic but maybe someone can point me to some wheres and hows of the cr2.?

rbtwhiz, May we construe that "(right now)" as a hint that DAZ|Studio will be able to create injection poses directly? :) greenbd

just a note ... you cannot distribute collapsed morphs made using DAZ's morphs, as that is a copyright violation. For freestuff, you can get away with just telling the user to add the appropriate morphs before using your setting. For commercial sale, you will need to use the INJection builder or learn how to make them by hand.
