i made a simple figure with paths and now i want to draw it's contour with a pen but i'm unable to click that button underneath the path palette, it's not selectable. what's wrong? i made it on p7 (pc), tried it on p6 (mac) with the same result. am i missing something important? thanks!

complete the path & make selection, then go to edit stroke give the desired value in unit or in 'mm', 'cm' (in PS 7 only). & here'z the counter

what do you mean by "complete the path"? does it have to be closed?

dreamer101 ( ) posted Wed, 25 June 2003 at 6:52 AM

The path does not have to be closed. Do your path then click on "stoke path with brush" at bottom of Path palette. The stroke will be your foreground color and the stroke size will be the size you have your brush at.

yes, i have a path already, it is only that the "stroke path" isn't clickable, there's that no-parking sign when i go over it with the mouse.

You sure it's a path and not a shape layer (filled)?

aleks ( ) posted Wed, 25 June 2003 at 7:45 AM

goddammit you are right! it's a filled shape layer... is there a way to convert it back to path?

If you just need it stroked, you can right click on layer and rasterize, Ctrl-Click layer (to select it) then Edit - Stroke.
