Subject: vertex shaping

Hi- I'm wanting to extrude or sweep a large circle to a smaller circle along a path as shown in this illustration: shapeStart.jpg When I select the objects as shown and set the vertex for the sweep (the yellow dot on the curve), instead of getting what I would think a horn shape like this, shape.jpg both circles get sweeped and I get this: shapeResult.jpg Shouldn't I be able to sweep the two circles and have the scaling follow from the big circle to small circle? I did the one that looks like what I want in the spline modeller but I'm stymied that my method in the vertex room is doing what I don't expect. What am I doing wrong? Thanks if anyone knows. Dave

As far as I know the vertex room doesn't work that way. I've been doing things like extrude, scale, extrude, scale, extrude, scale for a controlled taper. Or you could make it in the spline modeller in first place then "convert to other modeller."

The easiest way to do what you want is to create a cone and deform it with the Bend & Twist deformer.
