Subject: Why am I getting a Refferal Message?

lobo75 ( ) posted Thu, 10 July 2003 at 3:53 AM · edited Sun, 26 January 2025 at 4:47 AM

Ok, i have made purchases here before, but for some reason i tried using one of the 2 cards i use and when i tried it said, DECLINED . Then under that it said REFERRAL. What does that mean? I checked with my mom and she hasnt made any changes to my account or to the card so it should have worked fine. Anywho i ended up using the other card i use and it went through with no problem. So i guess i am just asking what the "REFFERAL" PART MEANS. Thanks in advance. Lobo

Clint, would it be all together better for me to just use my paypal account instead next time i make a purchase?

Hi, When you get the error message of "Referral" this means you need to call your bank or credit card company. They are for some reason requiring a verbal authorization from you to let the charges go through. The second reason you would get a referral message is the bank believes the card to be stolen. Hope this helps. Stacey
