Something I've been working on, I though I post this pic with the hope of getting some feedback. I've been thinking about doing a petite figure, very slender, very leggy, with not all that much up top, along the lines of Audrey Hepburn, or (if your too young to remember her), Ally McBeal. I think there are alternates in female beauty to the slightly top-heavy Poser women we all know so well. Anyway, I don't want to say a whole lot about her yet, as she is still under construction, but you can get an idea of her proportions from Mike. She is exactly 5' 2", even with heels she doesn't tower over him like regular Vickie does. She is V3 based, incidently, but no body morphs were used, and she is not scaled either, this is her 100% size. If you look real close at the pic you will also see a couple new ideas I had for her. What do you think? They make a cute couple, don't they? Mike (Mike I, actually, I can't find my Mike II!) is using one of Anton's nice textures.

shante ( ) posted Wed, 16 July 2003 at 8:41 PM

nice idea. certain spice in variety for sure. i am looking real close and except for nicely toned skin with very little bod e-fat i don't see what you might be refering to regarding new ideas.

Thanks for the attention to alternatives. I prefer smaller breasts and those dirigible-sized ditsy boob balloons that show up on many of the Vx renders turn me off. Nice work! :) Kuroyume

It will certainly be nice to see some silicone-less breasts...LOL If you are going for Audrey Hepburn & Callista Flockhart types, you'll have to reduce the breast some more...they both are/were pretty close to flat chested....plus anyone who is so thin that their hip bones & ribs stick out that much, doesn't usually have thighs that big...that's my 2 cents...

Momcat ( ) posted Wed, 16 July 2003 at 9:05 PM

I could almost deal with the ribs. I do know some women who are naturally that thin; but the hip bones just say unhealthy to me. Sorry :(

pakled ( ) posted Wed, 16 July 2003 at 9:08 PM

I guess the 'nudity' tag is the 'something blue'..;) looks great..tho all this animosity towards the macromasophilic does give me an idea for a pic or two..;)

Sorry; what is "macromasophilic"? I tried looking it up, and doing searches for it but nothing came up.

Jim Burton ( ) posted Wed, 16 July 2003 at 9:13 PM

shante- look real, real close at the neck (the idea isn't fully implimented yet, but you can see a little of it). Plus why is her left shoe loose like that? ;-)

Caly ( ) posted Wed, 16 July 2003 at 9:24 PM

I'm sorry, she looks too thin to me. Ribs showing lightly, not a problem, but the hips stick out too far. I like the smaller breast size though.

shante ( ) posted Wed, 16 July 2003 at 9:27 PM

the tendons in the neck...a realistic touch especilly for a thinner figure or athletic one is nice. The foot in the shoe is loose because the strap heels, especially those with ankle straps usually allow some sloppyness between the foot and the shoe. I love watching a foot especially a pretty one walking in strapped shoes. My fetishistic observations indicate that unless the foot is tightly bound at the foot base to sandle sole, is almost always giving the visual impression of wanting to loosen or escape. Makes you want to strap it down the tighter! LOL I have Vicki3 (including some of your cool looking stuff from DAZ Jim!) but all that injection and uninjection shit really pisses me off. Too complex for my tastes and I therefore I deinstalled it all and went back to Vicki2. Love her. Do a Vicki 2 veersion for us V3InjectionDisinterested wiil Ya!!!

macromasophilic.....I couldn't find the word either.

lhiannan ( ) posted Wed, 16 July 2003 at 11:04 PM

I'm going to go out on a limb and think that macromasophilic is similar to using "megacarpous"

narcissus ( ) posted Thu, 17 July 2003 at 2:40 AM

Well the hip bones are ok,the hands look great,thin fingers!breast size look good to me.However a smaller and more conic with the nipples looking up would match her more :-}

igohigh ( ) posted Thu, 17 July 2003 at 2:50 AM

I think she's HOT from head to toe 8p Perhaps lighten up just a tad on the hip bone, don't make it dissaper but just smooth it out a tad bit.

Diandra ( ) posted Thu, 17 July 2003 at 4:30 AM

Interesting. I certainly would celebrate a shorter more petite model. I don't like the hips - they are far too thin imho but other than that I like her. But then I would also love to see a shorter more "fuller figured" woman. And I don't mean big boobs. Just generally a couple of sizes bigger than V3 is now.

Momcat ( ) posted Thu, 17 July 2003 at 7:17 AM

I agree with Diandra. This petite figure would be wonderful, with less pelvis sticking out (smoother, more healthy), and one that is still petite, but more athletic, sturdy type. It's hard to gauge whether or not it's really worth it to produce these figures unless you would be doing it for yourself anyway. A lot of people say they would love to see such and such type of figure, but then they never use them. It might be worth it more for not quite such a high res figure for animators, or even still scenes with a lot of different people in it, but let's face it (and I'm just as guilty here) the Nekkid Vickie crowd tends to stick to fantasy figure types. I might branch out if there were a realistic heavier body type (V3 comes cklosest, but still..), but no one has really come up with realistic body fat morphs. And if they did, how many people would really use them? This is most likely why we don't see that much variation in bodytype in the galleries...it's a viscious cycle. If more people would use them, more people would make them, but people aren't going to use them if there isn't other support for them as well.

SkyeWolf ( ) posted Thu, 17 July 2003 at 7:54 AM

I love the thin fingers :) and the petit figure is great. I agree with the others that the hips stick out too far for a healthy person though. I also think that perhaps the breast size should be reduces more...possibly another cup size... All in all though I like her...really love those long thin fingers!

I put a lot of time in on the hands, I wanted to have them long and slender, with tapered fingers, that part is just about done. She still needs work on her legs and knees, I think I'm going to raise her knees just a tad too, I like the long-shin slightly short-thigh look. I'll have morphs to take out some of the pelvic edge detail and the rib details, of course, I'm aware this level isn't everybodies cup of tea. ;-) She'll have the usally set of breast morphs too, including a couple of versions (at least) of less-well endowed. shante, your right, the shoes have a "loose" morph, I'm also planning to have JCM run on the Sterno-mastoids in the neck, to pull them out properly when the head is turned. That is one thing that is very noticable on almost anyone when you turn the neck, I'm suprized it hasn't been done before. Here is a closeup of her feet, I spent a lot of time on them, too. She has a wider toe box and a narrower heel compared to regular Vickie, along with other changes.

My room mate (We've been together for 35 years) has always been very healthy ... and in her teens and early twenties was this thin ... her hip bones were promonent ... that was just her physique. Not unhealthy at all. She wieghed around 120 at 5'6". So she wasn't a wilting flower either. Just my oppinion. Boni

Jim, If your thinking of making her for sale, would she be able to wear all thoes close I have? I like her because she is the perfect size for an Fae. If she won't beable to wear the clothes, then how about a bikni? Reminds me of how Blackheart Make KI for Vic 2 only your model is slim all over. I like her as is.

Love is Grandchildren.

Perfect for my taste... Where, when ?

pendarian ( ) posted Thu, 17 July 2003 at 2:33 PM

Well, I'm 5'1" and weigh 102 pounds and wear either a size 1 or 0 depending on what I'm looking for....my ribs don't stick out, nor do my hipbones. I have breasts also, not large but in proportion to the rest of my body. My arms aren't quite that thin, because I keep them toned up. Jim, I really like the idea, but wish you would put a bit more meat on her bones, unless of course you are going after the aneroxic type. I would like to see you have the thighs as they are and match the rest of the body :) Pendy

pendarian ( ) posted Thu, 17 July 2003 at 2:34 PM

I was going to add that petite does not necessarily mean skinny, just means small. And we small ladies can have curves like the big ones, just well, smaller :)

Oh. I don't understand it either. I like them all sizes >^_~ I think it's mostly to do with the lack of variety.

RealitysPoison ( ) posted Thu, 17 July 2003 at 5:23 PM

At one point, pre-pregnancy, I weighed 135. I am 5'9. And yes, my ribs stuck out and my hipbones, and I still had thighs. You can build almost any shape, and it will be realistic to someone. (Except the height, lol. I always wanted to be short. ;) I really like her. And if you are including hipbone and rib morphs, that is just great. My only question is, is she going to be supported with a wardrobe? (I would still love to be able to dress poor supermodel dina, lol) I have somehow just barely managed to resist SMV all these years, almost didn't when you just put her on sale, lol, but I think I might just have to snag this one if you release her and she has clothes. :D Good work!

wolf359 ( ) posted Thu, 17 July 2003 at 5:46 PM

Too each their own but she looks frall and generally unhealthy to me . I find petite girls "cute" in a childlike sort of way But i prefer more body thickness all around. Just one man's opinion.

Jim Burton ( ) posted Fri, 18 July 2003 at 10:36 AM

Well, first of all, if she was a little beefier, she would start to be more of a scaled-down Vickie III, and I want to keep her different. I'm pretty beefy myself, but I can still admire a thin build. Clothing is going to have to be made to fit her, unfortunately. You can't make an omelet without breaking eggs. However, she would really need her own clothing anyway, for a acceptable level of fit, her shape is getting pretty far from V3's after all, not to mention the difference in size. Having her own fitted CR2 also gives me the chance to get it really right, not a compromise, and I can do things like building in additional JCM, while V3 is fantastic in this area (and far ahead of any other figure), after using her for a time I can see a couple little things... ;-) She will SURELY get clothing sets from me. In fact, after working on pricing the SIMs sets (which are going to be out soon) I've been re-thinking about how my sets are sold. My original thinking (and many other's sell sets this way) was to sell (say) a set of clothing for V3 for $30, then later sell updates with the mesh and CR2 modified for, say Glamorous Vickie, for $15. The idea is the purchaser of the original set "bought" the mesh, the update purchasers are buying the revised mesh "fit". My "new" thinking is I'd have a set for this figure, another for Glamorous Vickie, another for regular V3, each would be (say) $20, there would be no update prices, with each your buying the mesh and CR2 fitted to that character or figure. Each set would have a couple of special things that would also work with the other sets, like exclusive textures and props, so there would be some extra value if you bought all the version. Oh yes, she would make a great Fae, I've been thinking that all along! If a set or two of wings happen to come with her, what would you like to see- angel wings, or butterfly wings, or insect-type wings?

Here is a pic after some more work, she's getting there! I shortened her arms a tad, among other things. She is half-French in this pic, that is the DAZ "French" head morph is set to 50% (!), seems to work well with the new body.

pendarian ( ) posted Sat, 19 July 2003 at 4:49 PM

But Jim, the girl has no butt!!!! If you are going for Allie McBeal(unhealthy) then it's coming along great, but if you are going for a true petite woman then it still needs some tweaking :) Her legs look great, her breasts look great, maybe a bit of toning on her arms...I'm tellig ya, I'm 5'1" tall and I weigh in at 100lbs and I don't have any of those bones sticking out that you have here :) and I've got a butt that I receive compliments on all the time ;) But, this is your model and if you are really going for the Ally McBeal, I think you are almost there, but PLEASE don't call her a "petite"....I'll have to protest :) Call her what she is "skinny" Pendy

Naa, it was just the camera angle, she has a butt! ;-) She will have a "Butt" morph too, of course, that is part of the standard set that all my figures and characters get. Probably that, 4 breast morphs (2 bigger, 2 smaller), and a set to take all the things out that some think I've overdone a tad, like the pelvic edge and rib detailing, at least. That way I can please everybody. ;-) Plus all the DAZ V3 morphs still work, too (unlike on SMV, where only the head morphs still go). I aught to mention that she is a figure, too, not a character, if you know what that means.

Caly ( ) posted Sun, 20 July 2003 at 10:07 AM

Ha! I figure is stand-alone, has a OBJ file for the body included, a character is made by morphing a figure (or sometimes just by added a texture and turning the standard dials, but I wouldn't call that even a character, myself). Vicky is a figure, as is Supermodel Vickie, Glamorous Vickie is a character. Figures work better, as a rule, as some times the joint parameters and the morphs get at odds on a character, as the joint parameters actually work on the un-morphed mesh. I finally got some clothing on the poor thing, too! I've still got to make her wings, I think I'm going to go with angel-style (or rather bird-style) wings, I think.

Momcat ( ) posted Sun, 20 July 2003 at 10:58 AM

She is awfully cute, Jim. I like that you added a a way to soften her up a bit. I have a few friends that I'd love to do characters of, but it has been impossible to do because the available figures are standard size. I also love that whle she is petite, there is no mistaking that she is all woman >^^< I like her face too >^~

Caly ( ) posted Sun, 20 July 2003 at 11:25 AM

Thanks. :) She does look very cute, and the ability to soften her neck, ribs, and hip bones will make her versatile indeed. :)
