Subject: Printing photos, automation?

I frequently have 30+ photos in one directory, and would like to print one copy of each. Usually print 4"x5.33", so get four to a sheet. Is there any easy way to organize a directory full of photos into 8.5x11 sheets, four to a sheet? The "automate - photo package" make four copies of each one. The "automate - contact sheet" makes each copy small (wastes a lot of expensive paper.) Doesn't have to be a photoshop action or plug-in, but would like easy and cheap. THANX!

Do the photos need to be resized or anything first??

Yup, looking for something that will do all the work. :) Actually got a response posted at dpreview.com recommending "power albums," downloadable from http://www.torry.net/util_graphics.htm . Neat little progam, easy to use, powerful, and free. Thanks!

What you could have used in Photoshop was File > Automate > Contact Sheet II. There you can set the number or columns to 2 and rows to 2. They can be captioned or not.

But they waste a lot of "real estate" on the paper...

I know you said it doesn't have to be an action, but that is the solution. You have to write an action to make the sheet with four different pictures on it.

"power albums" is actually a better/easier solution.

never heard of it, what is is?

Attached Link: http://www.angelfire.com/ga/bazuka

It's an album creator, but it's neatest feature is auto arranging up to 8 different images on one sheet for printing. Fairly easy to use, most things accessed from right-click instead of menus. The web page is at link, but on angelfire so maybe not easy to get to. There's an older version at http://www.torry.net/util_graphics.htm
