You need to use a transparency map. When making a transparency map one thing to remember is that 100% black is complete transparency and any lighter shade (usually greys)gives less transparency. The lighter the grey the more visible an object becomes. To have part of an object transparent while keeping parts visible your trans map would be black where you want the transparency and white where you want to see parts. I would suggest a shade of grey to make glass. Trial and error really until you get the look you want. You still set your transparency dial to 100% Helen

I want it back.
Hae, You might have better luck using the poser one-sided square intead of a cube. In theory, the trans map on a cube should go on both the front and back, so perhaps that's why you're not getting the results you want. I can't say for sure without seeing what you did, but the one-sided square may work better. mac

Hi,
How could I use a transparency map to create like an opening in a standard poser cube so it looks like a window, is this possible or what b/c i made a transparent image and set it as the transparent map in the materials box and it did create an opening in the cube but the cube that wasn't completely transparent as a result of the map was semi-transparent as i had to set the transparency max to 100%. Is there any way around this so the part that i didn't make transparent in the image won't be transparent?
Whu, thats a long one, lol
Thanks
