Subject: Tailor Questions

Batronyx ( ) posted Sun, 17 August 2003 at 10:05 PM ยท edited Wed, 22 January 2025 at 1:48 AM

I've spent the better part of two days messing around with Tailor 1.5, and searching the forum for answers to little problems. It's been helpful but I still have a problem I'm hoping someone can help with: The FBM's just don't work after I save the new .cr2.

Specifically, I'm trying to get either the pants from Dave71's 'Hot Thing' set or Serge Marck's free pants to conform to Syyd's V3 'Zaftig 5' body. They seem to work in Tailor, but not in PPP. The individual partial morphs work but not the full ones. Even PhilC's suggestion of saving the figure morphs as a MOR pose and then applying that to the figure after the clothing is conformed didn't work. (BTW figuring out how to do that with V3's injections system was a small adventure in itself!! :) )

I seem to be left with selecting individual body parts and jumping back and forth between figures to match settings.

Anyone with more experience know how I might solve this problem? Could it have something to do with the fact the Zaftig poses are not themselves FBMs and instead just injected PBM settings? If so then that would imply other similarly created characters would have the same problem.

Any ideas?

"Could it have something to do with the fact the Zaftig poses are not themselves FBMs and instead just injected PBM settings? If so then that would imply other similarly created characters would have the same problem." I would be willing to betthat that is exactly what that is. Try this: Spawn a morph of each effected body part and call it "zaftig". Once that is done, restore figure, and set each "zaftig" morph to 1. Now spawn a new full body morph, restore figure, and set the new FBM to 1. Once this is finished, use the "All Morphs" remove poses to remove all DAZ INJ morphs. Your character will still have the FBM, since new individual morphs have been spawned. Save this new character to your library, and use that cr2 to build the Tailorized FBMs.

I made up a little pose for myself that added ERC control to tailorized morphs (that had the same name as their V3 counterpart). After adding the morphs in the Tailor, I load up the figure in Poser, apply the pose, and then the outfit will take the same morphs as the figure, much like DAZ's clothes do. If you want, I can send it to you.

Momcat,
Thanks for the suggestion. I had thought to do something like that to save time in the future 'after' I tailored the garment, but it hadn't occurred to me to try it before on the figure to save even more time.

FyreSpiryt,
I would be delighted, not just to use, but to learn from as well. I'm no expert but it looks like Tailor at least attempts to add ERC to make the FBMs work. This of course only added to my confusion. :) One of the things I tried was editing the generated .cr2 to make the display names match those of the figure, but I just tried it on a couple of the morphs and I didn't notice any apparent effect. Thank you.

Thank you both. :)

ERC is actually a way to exploit the code that does FBMs, which is what you're probably seeing. The display names aren't important; that's just what Poser shows you. It's the channel name that needs to match so cross-talk (in P4 and Pro Pack. Poser 5 works differently with ERC). Also, in the block of ERC code in each channel, change the figure line to "Figure 1", and then it'll purposely cross-talk to the first figure loaded into the scene. Send me your e-mail address via IM and I'll mail the pose to you.

Done.
I changed the display names because the targetGeom names already matched, as did the line below the 'figure' line. . . I'm probably misunderstanding your comment about the figure line, because I'm looking at the ERC line and I see this already (sample):

                targetGeom PBMPearFigure
                        {
                        name PBMPearFigure
                        initValue 0
                        hidden 0
                        forceLimits 1
                        min -100000
                        max 100000
                        trackingScale 0.001
                        keys
                                {
                                static  0
                                k  0  0
                                }
                        interpStyleLocked 0
                                valueOpDeltaAdd
                                        <b><i>Figure 1</i></b>
                                        BODY:4
                                        PBMPearFigure
                                deltaAddDelta 1
                        indexes 606
                        numbDeltas 606
                        deltas
                        .....

I'm supposing the relevant line is just below 'valueOpDeltaAdd' correct? If so then it should work already, unless (likely) I've oversimplified it for myself :)

Looking forward to your pose file, and thanks again. I'll drop in my Kati folder with your other cool stuff.

FyreSpiryt ( ) posted Mon, 18 August 2003 at 8:34 PM

Oop, I think I see it. See the line that says "Body:4". Try changing that to "Body:1" and see what happens. (You got what I said correctly; I didn't think about the body line.) "I'll drop in my Kati folder with your other cool stuff." Aw ::giggle:: thanks! I'm glad you like it. I love it when people enjoy my freebies. It gives me a warm fuzzy.

Batronyx ( ) posted Tue, 19 August 2003 at 12:06 AM

Well, I never got the cross talk to completely work, but I did get the MOR pose to apply to the pants with just one click!! That much is at least more simple. I did have to change all occurences of ':4' to ':1' though, not just on the 'BODY'.

Now to try that pose file. . . . :)

"It gives me a warm fuzzy."
May you enjoy many.

Thanks again.
