The main render of this image took 9 hrs, and was in the "boiler" all last night, during the day, I have no idea how many hrs all the different plop renders have taken. But it's a lot! I'm getting close to be done. But would very much like to hear opinions; how can I make the water more "watery", the walls more wet looking, the cloud a bit better looking, and what should I try to do in postwork. Thanks! :)

looks awesome so far! the only suggestion i have, would be to edit below the mans waist, where he is under water. maybe make it rippled or smudged, because the flow of the water would distort the view. excellent job!

To make the stone look wetter, darken it a bit and crank the specularity up.

Specularity will give you the wet look, I would up the specularity on the mans skin too...anything that is supposed to be wet

I think the clouds on wich the woman is lying need volume texture. The ones from the default texture library are very good and easy to tweak.

Thank you, guys. I'll sork on that cloud thingy and the stones again today. I've actually tried the specularity and the darken thingy, - but apparently Not enough. The cloud is also one of the problem things, - I either make it too dense or too fluffy! Neither looks right. Back to the salt mines! The stones and wings are textures from the texture challenge (that I missed) last month, - tweaking them, - and working with them has taught me a lot about the mat lab that I didn't know!

Aren't you supposed to put a bead in one of the color section channels to increase the wet look effect? Sorry I can't tell you which one but perhaps the question will stmulate someone elses brain cells. 8) Catlin

If you are trying to get the cloud to be less sharp around the edge without making it any thinner, you could copy it and create two or more cloud objects, the larger one(s) being less dense than the smaller one(s). It would make the edge of the cloud much more fuzzy without sacrificing the density of the center of it.

Britt I knew there was something annoying me about this image but it's only just dawned on me what it is. The angels wing merges with the rock that should be behind it. It always amazes me how you can miss things like that for ages before realizing. Catlin

Thank you for noticing, Catlin! :) The image is rendering.. now going on its 2nd day!! Arghh! lol I'll see how it looks like when it's done, and see if ploprenders are necessary! THANKS for noticing. Better late than never!
