Now that's much more like it. :-) Apropos the legs, why don't you just put some mud stains on them? It will be easier if you do that on the texture before rendering, than later in postwork. What version of Poser do you have? 4 and earlier didn't have such hot textures. 5 has a texture that would actually be useful as a bump. Anyway, try inverting the texture in the alpha channel. No help about Grouper, sorry.

This is looking great. How long have you been here in the forum. A few months ago we did a challenge using the DTE and it was very informative and difficult. Rayraz, did a tut on how to make textures from scratch in it. Wish I could give you links, but I'm useless at that. Ok, if you go to the spotlight of the week and inside it go down to post #14 that is the link to Rayraz's tut. Plus there are other great links in that thread too. Hope this is of some help for textures. Angela
:) Than you, Jen. I made a transmap and tore up those pants. lol Erlik; I've been thinking about that, and you are probably right that it would be better to do that on the texture. And you are absolutely right that theyre aren't a whole lot of GOOD textures out there for the P4 family. THere are some, but this is one that is called "natural Vic" or something, which is actually pretty decent, but! the legs are too clean! lol I have Poser 4 still.. Contemplating the 5 though. But since hair wasn't possible to get out of it, and I think Bryce is a much better rendering engine; I've let it be so far. Angela; thanks a bunch! :) Let's see; I think that the Bryce forum was the first I approaced when I became a member of R'osity (muct be a coupla years now), but then Poser and modelling bit me. I decided that I wanted to be able to do it ALL. lol I stranded pretty nastly by trying to conform cloths for the poser family, that stuff went far over my head! In addition; I've been (still am) a bit active in the photography forum. So I've got a lot of interests going. As for the DTE challenge; I came in here when that was finishing up. So I got to vote. lol and I saw Rayraz' tut, and will try it. Still; it's very difficult to make believable textiles. I think that was one of my first questions to the forum a couple of years back. lol And I haven't gotten any better at it. There are so many very nice metals and rocks out there; but not some really good and beleavable textiles. If you think about it; we're surrounded by fabrics of one kind or another. I mean. Like everywhere. l Oh, well... I'll have to continue using image maps for cloths, at least. :)
I dont' know exactly how clothes are made for models, but I think I know of something that may help... PSP8 has something that's called seamless tiling. if at any point in time, you have to have the pic your using in a flat format like jpg, bmp, png, something like that, use the seamless tiling...it get's rid of all the obvious edge marks in a pic... I use it for webpage backgrounds and stuff, and it's really cool. Jen
:) Thanks a lot, Jen! I'll have to look into that! Photoshop also has something like that, and the texturizer that was posted here last night could prolly do it too. What I dream of is to be able to make believable fabrics/textiles within DTE. That is not easy! :) The way I solved the pants problem was to make a texture in Photoshop. The first ones were made in Bryce... (not very good ones either!)
you're welcome to play with those, I used the seamless tiling on each one before I added them to the group so they're good to go...(lol if you're making a 70's golf outing pic on some of em LMAO) psp 8 also has where you can apply those fills in a texture pattern...the blue checkered one, I used a solid blue bg, then applied the checkers in the texture format (can't remember which one) but at least it's something to play with...LOL Jen
