What OS do you use? No it doesn't sound right. How large is your swap-file? Have you installed the memory updater for P4? Habe you defragged your drive recently? And what character are you using?

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Its win2002 Poser 5, havent updated anything. Everything else is works fine. Swap file is over 1,5 gb. I use the basic characters in poser. Thanks for quick reply.

Something is definitely wrong. My computer is like yours, except I have XP, and it's quite fast with only one character loaded. Do you have all the Poser 5 updates installed? The service releases really aren't optional with Poser 5. They are nececessary for the program to run decently.

well i did re install it and now its a little bit faster.. ill also run the update... How can i calculate if its really slow, maybe its just me feeling that its slow? is there any kind of test? thanks.

Attached Link: Poser CPU test

There was a Poser 5 "benchmark" sort of test, run right here in this forum. You download a standard scene, then time (with a watch) how long it takes to render. See the link. Try running the test, and comparing your time with what people who had similar computers got.

Wow, that's quite an improvement. What did you do to speed it up? Just reinstall Poser 5?
