Subject: Problem with prop

gulegule ( ) posted Wed, 16 August 2000 at 4:07 AM ยท edited Tue, 24 December 2024 at 11:52 AM

I download prop, UltraShoe a few days ago. And saw all those dials. I want to ask, if anybody could tell me how, can I make them, or where I can get good tutorial about makeing props. Because I want to make my own prop with modifiers (morphs, dials). I tried like this: I made prop and saved it in library, then i loaded it again and add a morph and saved it again. But when i loaded it again there is still dial for my morph, but i can change the value in any direction but the prop didn't change. I don't know what and where I do wrong.

Okay, I need a little more information before I can help you. What software are you using to create your morph targets in? (If you're using Rhino, Traveler has an excellent tutorial on his site - MorphWorld2) Paul

gule, Take a trip over to Traveller's Morph World 2 (link to the right) and read his wonderful tutorials.... he'll walk you through step by step.. much bettre than any one could here... Cheers

I create morph targets in 3d studio max r3, where i use same object which i export to poser. BTW I read Roy's max tutorial, but there i don't find any help.

Traveller has done his tutorials primarily for Poser... give him a go

I read Traveller's tutorial, but there is no information which i seek. I want to make smart prop which i can save with all morphs and when I load it again, all the morphs(dials) will work. Like shoe where you can with dial change heel style.

Very, very basically: Open your prop in your modelling application, make the changes and export it as a new .obj file. Open the prop in Poser, select it, double click, add morph target, selecting the file you just saved, click OK. Check that the dial works correctly. With the prop selected, open the Props library, Add to library, overwriting the existing file. When you open it again it should have the morph target included and working. Does that help or am I smoking rope again? :) Berge

Berge, I do just like you say. And there is dial for my morph, but I can move dial in any direction and nothing happen. :( Morph works before I save prop to the library. Thanx anyway.

Only thing I can think of is that it's something silly, like the minimum and maximum values or something. To check, double click on the morph dial and check all the values. Maybe someone else can pick up from here. Sorry I can't help. Berge

try clicking on the numbers above the dial and type in 1 sometimes the dial needs to be spun like crazy to get anything to happen.......Steve
