There lined up for the 1st Annual Supermodel-of-the-Year Contest, being judged by the Dork, contestants are, from left to right: Regular Vickie, who wishes she kept up the workouts, Supermodel Vickie Blonde, who is glad she got those implants, Her twin Supermodel Vickie Brunette, who is glad she didn't and expects to win and The Posette, who thinks she isn't tall enough to win, aside from her lumpy knees. This all got started when I was doing some feet morphs for Vickie, a light went off in my head, I thought- I can improve her, I can make a supermodel out of her, I can correct her proportions. All changes are in the mesh, no scaling, no morphs, Vickie's texture maps work, Vickie's head dials all still work, body dials are all gone but new ones will be supplied. Price will be "reasonable", she should be ready around the end of the month, regular Vickie will be required, of course, but only for legal reasons.

Vicky don't do nothin for me...I'll stick with posette I still think she's the best lookin of the 4, The two in the middle look scary. and Vicky just looks like an older woman.

JeffH ( ) posted Fri, 18 August 2000 at 6:46 PM

I don't think you can sell even a "difference" file of Vickie without Zygote permission.

Jim Burton ( ) posted Fri, 18 August 2000 at 7:36 PM

JeffH- Zygote knows what I'm doing.

blau ( ) posted Fri, 18 August 2000 at 7:38 PM

what the hell did you do? that has to be the ugliest thing I've ever seen. Poor Vickie.

JeffH ( ) posted Fri, 18 August 2000 at 7:55 PM

Guess I should have said more... The body proportions are cool, but the "Character" faces seem to be a personal preference and should most likely be left "generic". The new body looks great! There, I feel better now ;-) I still think there's something wrong about selling the difference between someone else's product and another's "Changes" - Just my Opinion. -JH.

ookami ( ) posted Fri, 18 August 2000 at 8:02 PM

Personally, I really like the body changes. How will the Vicki clothing work on them? The 3rd face is nice. The second one... hmmm... maybe it's just the angle or expression... but I agree... she's SCARY.... ahhhh..... MOMMY! Make the bad woman go away!

melanie ( ) posted Fri, 18 August 2000 at 8:45 PM

Well, my opinion is that the two in the middle, especially the brunette, look very realistic. I think they're great, Jim. The blonde looks like she's angry, but maybe she's just jealous that she needed the implants and her sister didn't. Melanie :)

Lindy55 ( ) posted Fri, 18 August 2000 at 11:07 PM

Good job Jim. I'll buy it. One suggestion though--the muscle on the front part of the thigh seems just a little too pronounced for the rest of the figure. Tell her to lay off the leg machine in her work outs for awhile.

Mason ( ) posted Sat, 19 August 2000 at 12:20 AM

Great work! BTW, where do you get the hair for the two middle ones?

Lady Cherry ( ) posted Sat, 19 August 2000 at 4:41 AM

Honestly i have only seen one face of the millenium woman that i like. All the other faces have been scary. Allways a distorted face on vicky. Im sure others will disagree with me but something about it.

Very good work on the body! I also am convinced that there is no way to get rid of the uglyness of Vickys face. That is the only reason I haven't bought here. I guess it just proves that beauty is skin deep but ugly goes right to the bone. If there is a virtual plastic surgeon out there, please, please, please, help this poor woman out!

picnic ( ) posted Sat, 19 August 2000 at 8:49 AM

WEll, I guess there is a lot of divergent thought on that. I've seen many, many beautiful renders of Vicky recently. BTW, Jim--this is really great. 'They' def. have the feel of 'super models'--haughty and all LOL.

melanie ( ) posted Sat, 19 August 2000 at 8:52 AM

I believe that beauty, like art, is very subjective. It's all a matter of opinion. I think Vickie is very pretty and I don't see any ugliness in her at all. She has a nice face and very versatile. I've made some cute Vickies, but I just haven't posted them. My personal opinion of Posette is that she looks too plastic. She looks more like a window mannekin or a Barbie doll rather than a live person. She's cute, but not very realistic. Vickie is much more realistic and lifelike. But then, thats only the way I see it. Everyone here probably see's all of the characters in as many different ways as there are members here in Renderosity. Melanie

melanie ( ) posted Sat, 19 August 2000 at 8:57 AM

Yes, and please share with us where you got that hair on the two middle ones. Enquiring minds want to know. Melanie

Ghostofmacbeth ( ) posted Sat, 19 August 2000 at 9:45 AM

I like vickie and have done and seen some good shots Agree that possette looks too plastic. like the bodies though the faces are a little sever for me ... And melanie .. that is his strip hair .. think it is in freestuff or just at his site which is linked above

melanie ( ) posted Sat, 19 August 2000 at 11:02 AM

Thanks, Ghost, I have the strip hair, but I just didn't recognize it. Melanie

picnic ( ) posted Sat, 19 August 2000 at 11:06 AM

But don't the faces remind you of someone--a more severe version of Kate what's her name that was on Charlie's Angels years ago maybe?? I have always thought that Posette was a Barbie lookalike but was the best we had at the time. Vicky so exceeds her--and I've thought from the beginning that you can make her look however you want--look at all the images from everyone--ethnic, various races, old, men, children/young girls and boys, beautiful model types, elves and fairies, goblins and witches--geez, what more can you want?!? If you don't like her in original map/unmorphed, then you can just change her to your liking. I only use Vicky and the 2 versions of the P4/Vicky head models now and am anxious for the male version.

Jim Burton ( ) posted Sat, 19 August 2000 at 11:10 AM

Hi guys & gals! I had to work on Vickies Face, as while it works some of the time, and from certain angles, it didn't look like what I wanted. Bear in mind that all the standard dials (Smile, mouth narrow, etc.) are there, so you can change it just the way you can change regular Vickie. I'm still working on the face, BTW, mostly chin, cheekbones and around the eyes I'm still unhappy with. I'm hoping to include some JCM morphs too, which I'm still expermenting with. I was really suprized how the standard Vickie Morph targets work, I assumed that turning any of them to 1 would put her face back to the standard Vickie face, as that is how a full face morph target would work, but they actually work correctly, I don't know why. The hair show is what ships with my suit for the Posette at BBay, it is highly modified, transmapped variation of the regular transmapped curls, similar to Allie's great (free) hair, only I started from the original, not her version. Supermodel Vickie will ship with the shoes, lingerie, texture map and some kind of hair, I think, hopefully better than as shown. As to the ethics, if Zygote would have announced something along this line I would have never proceded, but they didn't and I wanted to see it done. The sales of it can't but help sales of original, as that figure is going to be required to extract the file. Plans are to use a new version of Objaction mover to decode, all will be reveiled later, but the extractor will be free, Maz says. Anyway, does regular Vickie look bad above? I used exactly the same pose (less mouth settings) on her, the brunett and the Posette, along with Zygote's texture and bikini. Vickie can look very good, don't get me wrong, I've seen many excellent examples, and others have had more success with modifing her body with scaling and morphs that I ever had. As to clothing, all Vickie clothing should fit correctly, as she has most all centers in the same place, but bear in mind some will be rather loose unless you morph or scale it tighter. Incidently, the shoes for my Skirt and Sweater set will fit without modification. I plan on having free CR2s available (eventually) for all my Vickie items, and (perhaps) some of the Posette ones- the later will only work partially, because of the difference in the body parts.

picnic ( ) posted Sat, 19 August 2000 at 11:40 AM

No, I don't think she looks bad at all. The brunette particularly looks very much like Vogue or Elle images. Posette looks like a dumpy little girl there and Vicky looks, well--like a 'normal' woman LOL. I know you like glamour--I even looked at your gallery from 'way back' and saw the women you prefer to work with so these fit that mold. I'd use the above--she adds one more facet to what we have to work with. Good work I think, Jim.

supermodel_heads.jpg
Thanks Diane. I did a closeup of supermodel and regular Vickie's heads, and to show the difference I put my texture map on regular Vickie. I'm especially happy with her lips, and eyes, some other areas are still being worked on. BTW, I think one reason she may be "scary" is she has the correct head size for a 7 1/2 heads tall person, unlike regular Vickie, who has a too-small head.

Wynter ( ) posted Sat, 19 August 2000 at 7:45 PM

Very good, Jim. As to the Vickie thing, I think she is versatile enough to be both lovely and ugly. That is why I like her. Her range of face types and expressions are exactly why I now prefer her over posette. I look forward to the MilMan.

CharlieBrown ( ) posted Mon, 21 August 2000 at 8:04 AM

I like the work here, and, though the faces on the SuperModel versions aren't to my liking, they DO look like some real supermodels (who also aren't to my liking... :-D)... I've seen some people make "pretty" Victoria/Millies. I haven't been able to - the best I've been able to do is "cute" or "strange" (on one occasion BOTH...)... I think the key is either hiding or doing a LOT of work with the teeth... Good work on giving us more variety here.

Jim Burton ( ) posted Tue, 22 August 2000 at 7:21 AM

CharlieBrown- I agree, there is a problem with Vickie's teeth, at times there seems like there is a awful lot of them, and if she opens her lips in the slightest they dominate her entire face. I made the mouth a little narrower, and moved the teeth back a little, but this area needs more work, too. I also think the face is a little too "heart-shaped" right now, but it is difficult to widen the jaw area without widening the mouth again. Incidently, the render at top absolutly maxed out my computer when I rendered it, counting all the clothing there is 22 figures and a lot of trans maps. I had to shrink some of the maps to get it to render. I have 256 Mb of memory, BTW.

picnic ( ) posted Tue, 22 August 2000 at 9:08 AM

Jim, I was trying a 'character' with a map I'm trying for Cindy and the teeth presented a real problem. I am totally no good with the magnets, so I shut her mouth most of the way. I tried all the teeth morphs I could find and none of them worked sufficiently. The teeth do seem as though they are too far forward, don't they?? Diane

Mason ( ) posted Tue, 22 August 2000 at 7:31 PM

One thing I notice is the facial features are smaller but more detailed in general on Vicki than posette. Posette has large eyes, nose and mouth in comparison. I think it just gives both figures a more unique look. I haven't seen anything I like about vicki that has convinced me to abandom my models and work with her. what I'd me more interested in is how much better are the joints over posette?

Jim Burton ( ) posted Wed, 23 August 2000 at 9:47 PM

mouth_open.jpg
Diane- With some help from Bloodsong I was able to make some morphs to move the teeth around, as you can see above. The hard part was getting the upper and lower teeth into a group, life is to short to do that with the grouping tool, but I was able to do it in UV Mapper, and make a new object file point a new CR2 to it. I'll see if I can make up some suitable morphs for regular Vicki and post them in Free Stuff.

picnic ( ) posted Thu, 24 August 2000 at 6:24 AM

That's pretty good, Jim. The 'after' looks really believable. I think I can see what others are calling a 'scary' face--its the length between the nose and the lips that contributes to it--but that's also what makes her quite 'model-esque'. Diane B
