As many of you know...realplayer has a little trick that it sends every url that you visit back to the realplayer servers. They even admit it. They claim its in there EUL and its all legal. Fine...I take it off my computer a few months ago. This is where it gets good. My parents ISP has been down. I try to get it to work on my moms computer and I have no luck. Being the good son I am I leave her computer on this whole last week. Last night I let the dog out and I hear her computers hard drive grinding hard. I wiggle the mouse and saw the horror. REALPLAYER DECIDED TO CALL A 1-800 NUMBER, UPLOAD A TON OF INFORMATION AND UPGRADE ITSELF FROM REALPLAYER 7 TO REAL PLAYER 8!!!!! WTF!!!!!! I hope somone takes them out of buisness....I cant believe that can be legal. Im going to spend a few hours tonight and find out if theres anything I can do. Just thought I'd give the heads up to those out there that care.

I thought they had that all cleared up when it was discovered with RealJukeBox? Contact some authorities on the matter. Since when is invasion of privacy legal? I took a disliking to them when I bought RealPlayer before it was a freebie. They then upgraded the player and the files so that you could not open the newer files unless you had the upgraded player. P.S. I think there might be a checkbox somewhere that stops the automatic upgrade.
