Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 24 7:34 pm)
If you compare the result and the effort it takes compared to what you can create if you spend 6 for backissue #64 of Digit Magazine and get Particle Illusion 2 SE on the CD.
Sorry to say Vue is one of the few renderapplications that can't take an animation as a texture. This means that you cant render animated explosions in a Vue animation (unless changing images one by one by hand). In order to do that you would have to use something such Adobe After Effects in order to join your Vue animation with the animated Particle Illusion effect(something that however works greate).
But, still images are no problem.
The way i did this 5min exsample image.
1 Selected an explosion in Particle Illusion
2 Clicked the save button and after naming the file I did fill in the output options in witch I checked alpha.
(If you download the demo or buy it then note that when saving there is a bug in the save dialog as it not shows the .tga extension as an option in the list. If so then just name your file name.tga and the correct dialog will appear anyway.)
3 In vue I created an Alpha Plane and imported the .tga image.
4 Then as it should illuminate itself I opened the material dialog and cranked up illumination.
5 Then I hit render.

And the same mate, see thats whats wrong with this place nowadats people like this. you make something wether it be good or not and you give it to any one and theres always one person who has to make rude comments to make that person fell a little silly and a little bad. It dont matter if it good or not mate its the thought that counts and if you had a problem with this then you could have easily sent me an im and not broadcast to all. I knwo it aint that good as i just playing and tyhat came out and thought ppl might use it for something ok, man i hate this site sometimes ..... end rant seeklight
Your firework seeklight (and mine), seen from farth and with a little blur can be very helpfull for scenes where a firework is needed. This is a kind of a challenge to do it inside Vue and not to create it somewhere else. Objects created inside Particle Illusion looks more like fantasie stars IMHO, not so much like a firework. But that's just my 2 cents.
seeklight: OK so I type a long message, makes a short tutorial on how to get some nice effects into Vue and give an advice on where you can get the tool for god price and it ends up in me being en evil person. Sweet Jesus, if you cant take critic then don't post here. Maybe the fact that I said what I said will make you try harder and see if you can take those Vue explosions further and maybe make something really greate in the end. Maybe you could write a Python script that makes animated firework, who knows. I have taken my share of critic and got really upset to, but in the end, looking back at it, I can say that in most cases the critics were right and if they not had critizised me I would not had developed. So chill down...the only thing I said was that your firework not really looks that god... Gebe: I dont know what kind of firework your used to but have you really looked trough all the hundreds of effects or tried to make your own? Or are you referencing to my image? If so I have to say that the image I did not was to show a better firework but rather how to get an particle effect into Vue. I downloaded the demo and just picked one of the demo effects as an exsample.
The matter of fact is i was trying to just use vue and not another 3rd party programme and thats what its about in my eyes. PPL like you always have to make rude comments as you cant help it its in your blood, yes i could have used an alpha plane but thats not what i was trying to do as use of alphas make it to easy And as for critsisem i can take all i get mate i been doing art for over 30 years so that comes with it but unfortunatly so do ppl like you seeklight

It's totally obvious that you don't know anything at all about me.Also your last post sounds like something you put together afterwards.
Because if it was true, then why did you not just comment my post with something like "Thank's for the tip HellBorn, it can sure be to use for some people. Currently for my own part I do however wisht to find out how far I can take it with Vue alone".
You must also take care to not read more into post such as mine. Many people on the web are not native English speaking witch means that they (and I'm one of them) not have acces to a rich English language. Whe have to use the budget version witch means that whe use the words whe think whe know how to spell and avoid the others. So, if my post really is rude then I apologise (if thats how it is spelled) and I hope you can explain in what way so I can avoid it in the future.
I will however not apologise for thinking your firework not looks that god.
Now, for those of you that are more interested in the endresult than witch applications you use.
After writing my first post I got some kind of feeling that I had managed to use Vue and Particle Illusion together without any need for After Effect. I had to waint untill I got home untill I could make sure.
So here it is:
You DONT need After Effects!!! ;)
Vue can't import the Particle Animation but Particle Illusions can import .avi files.
So I made a 10 minute example.
About half that time in Vue to make a dummy train, to animate it and render an 3 minute avi then the rest in Particle Illusion to bring a smoke particles and the aninimation together.
The image shows the Image Illusion workarea in with you can see the vue animation in the background and the motion path for the particle on top of it.
Click the link for the 130k Divx animation of the train.
Then try to tell me that Particle Illusion on a backissue not is worth 6. ;)
