With the Global Lighting it can take up to 3 to 5 hours sometimes for a render depend on how complex the scene and the shadows are. It had to load shadows for every single light source in the render and can take quite a while. How long have you let it run for before you kill it? Hope this helps you out... Ryan
When a light set does that, go ahead and kill P5. Reopen your scene, apply the lightset, then resave it back to your library. Delete all the lights in the scene (best way is to use the delete lights python script in freestuff), the apply your just saved light set. That set will no longer give you any troubles. Best thing to do is save your scene before switching lights so you have something to go back to if that happens again. Foxx
Thanks for that tip, Foxx! I got exactly the same problem (hanging with "loading textures" displayed) with a light set I got with a product that I bought which had been developed with P4/PP. I found after much experimentation I could get it to work if I loaded things in a specific order, but it became a hassle trying to remember to do that (and anyway, I like to add lights towards the end of a project so I can do lots of quick renders to check everything is in the right place and textures applied properly etc.) I'll forward your tip the the product manufacturer.. Cheers, Diolma

I have recently upgraded to Poser 5 and I am having troubles getting my global lighting paks to work. I click on Render and all I get is loading Textures then it just freezes. I have to control Alt and Delete out of the program. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a solution to the problem. I am running Xp with 1gb of DDR Ram. Poser 5 w/all updates. Thanks, Beth
