You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

I haven't used it in any renders other than those tow L becourse I just MADE it when I saw that request. Hmm seeing it now together with the other one, I realize that it perhaps is too thick. Anyway, if anybody wants the hook in it's present shape, it is here (obj only but the worm is in the zip too)

hauksdottir, she's wearing the DAZ fantasy wrap with the default poser gold refelction map applied :-) pdog, the knot was generated in a freeware program called Knot Tyer 3d by Steven Abbott (http://www.abbott.demon.co.uk/knots.html) which allows you to export in obj, dxf, POV, VRML, or as a picture file. igohigh, I don't remember what knot it started out as (I think it was a fisherman's bend) but I did a fair amount of work on it in Lightwave before exporting to Poser

Of course! There's a different knot for different type of fishing and different type of hooks. For instance, the hook above would work best with a Rapala tie which looks just like the one in the picture, it allows the hook or lure to move freely up/down and side to side, great for lures and live bait. Or theres the Snell tie for when you have the hooks with the bent eyelet, these are common for bass and salmon rigs and when altered can create a great anchor for eggs (again great for salmon. Now the Bimini Twist, there's a knot! No known 'tool' for tying them so must be done by hand, commonly used for stripped bass due to it's excellent spring action it takes all the burden off the knot and great for fishing around piers and other obstacles. Then there's the age old argument of "What knot is best; Triliene, Clinch, Double Clinch, or Palomar" - Personally I prefer the Trilene, when tied correctly (and my father's tool will do it right EVERY time!) it's about all one needs, works great on lines from 1/2lb leader line to 150lbs ocean line and any hook (except a snell hook), lure, sinker, or swivel. And then there's the Blood knot for tying two lines together, and the End Loop for making leaders, and..... The key is to Not let the line wrap over the knot itself, that is where your weak point will be and fishing line will actually cut itself in half if not tied correctly. If you ever loose a fish and 'pig tail' on the end of the line; your knot cam undone. If you loose a fish and find a clean break on the end of the line or a slight curl; your knot cut itself in half. If you loose a fish and find a slight streach at the break; you yanked too hard and the line broke, chances are however you knot held. The rest is all in learning how to 'play' the fish, never yank the line! Once the hook is set the fish should be played all the way in. I just love ocean fishing with 3lb line or trout fishing with 1lb line, all the old timers will look at me like I'm insane....until they see me land one! ;p http://www.netknots.com/html/fishing_knots.html http://www.marinews.com/fishing/fk_main.htm http://www.tnoutdoorsmen.com/knots.htm http://www.fishingcairns.com.au/page6-1.html http://www.fish4fun.com/knots.htmThis site uses cookies to deliver the best experience.
