Subject: Poser5 SR4 has the jitters

Periodically, my Poser gets this symptom where - when I turn the parameter dials - chracters and props move in starts and jumps, no smooth flow, and the dial moves likewise, not at all, or then suddenly far past the intended setting. Hope I'm making sense. Is there a reason or a remedy for this? Thanks.

Your scene is probably getting too populated for Poser to handle smoothly. You can delete some stuff or change the view mode to something less demanding. You can also switch to fast tracking. Or if you have P4, you can use it instead. The problem still exists but--in my experience--you can load up many more figures before it starts happening.

Thought I'd add a little detail to Jackson's good advice, in case you aren't familiar with terms mentioned: 1. Window / Hierarchy Editor - click on items to hide them. 2. Switch "Display/Document Style" from "Texture-Shaded" to "Smooth-Shaded". Then if you really want to see texture on one or two figures, select each one, and do "Display/Figure Style/Texture-Shaded" to force it to override the document setting. 3. Display / Tracking / Fast-Tracking. 4. Add more RAM to your computer. It is possible that Windows is shuffling Poser data in-and-out of virtual memory, which would definitely cause extreme jerkiness.

Check to see if your mouse wheel is dirty. It could very well be your mouse wheel is corrupted and causing jumps. I get that now and then with my mouse wheel.
