Subject: rolling wheel animation

is it possible to link a ball/wheel etc.. to the ground to make it roll when you drag it across for an animation, or does it have to be turned manually and then go through all the pain to get it to look right

To my knowledge no and yes respectively to your questions. But I am wondering about the linking/tracking process and how that might be used to make the process simpler. Any ideas anyone? Mike

I don't think so. You need pretty advanced animation capabilities to do stuff like that.

Try making the ground plane positive, the ball negative, link ball to plane (object / parent). Move and rotate the ball. Set on ground plane and make a keyframe.

markostimpy, not sure why you would make the ground positive and ball negative. That's for boolean operations and has no effect on anything else.
