Well, no one replied to my post at DAZ, so apparently not (sniffle). It didn't seem to have any startling new insights, and after buying the Freehand MX upgrade on the strength of a CA review I'm not inclined to trust them very far anyway.

Never having read Computer Arts Magazine myself I take it they don't know the difference between a diamond & a turd?

They tend to review on features and gloss over the bugs

Ah that's standard practice for some magazines after companies have paid them for ad space. I tend to take magazine reviews with a pinch of salt then wait for the demo to arrive so I can try it for myself. I suppose I should say I wasn't trying to imply that D|S is a turd, having played with it a little it does show a lot of potential, here's hoping for the beta to arrive soonish ;)

"At zero cost, there's no reason not to give this public beta of Daz Studio a look - the first full version will be available anytime now... The tool is competent, if basic, and it's built on sound ideas, although it's future value will depend on how far DAZ and third-party companies can develop it. Having seen how DAZ operates, we're cautiously optimistic." I thought it was a pretty fair, if tepid review. But hopefully, the fact that they are telling magazines they'll be bringing out the public beta soon means it should be along before summer :-)
