Subject: Victoria 3, Micheal 3 question

SVicious ( ) posted Fri, 16 April 2004 at 2:24 AM · edited Tue, 07 January 2025 at 9:02 AM

I recent picked up both these figures and at first I was skeptical of loading the morphs but when i saw it was very easy I gave it a shot. Well after 2 hours of about pulling my hair out of my head. I must come here to ask a simple question How in the world do I get the injections to work, everytime I try and inject a figure I purchased from either here or Daz, I am constant bombared by error message saying it can't find so and so morph (i guess thats what it is) after about 20 or more error message I look at my dials and there is no new dials. I am getting extremely frustrated can someone please tell me what Im doing wrong here??

did you also buy the morph packs at daz. The v3 and m3 base figures come with no morphs you need to buy the morph packs separet.

And if you're using poser 5 let us know. Love esther

All the morph injections reside in a folder called !DAZ. Do not be tempted to move these to any other location as you will receive these error messages.

RHaseltine ( ) posted Fri, 16 April 2004 at 9:31 AM

Copy the !DAZ folder from WhereeveritisRuntimeLibraries to Poser 5RuntimeLibraries, assuming you are a Poser 5 user and have not installed to the main Runtime anyway.

I've also found that some of the injection MATs (basically the ones that add multiple groups of injections) depend on the other MATs being in the default install location for that package. If you move them to another directory it breaks those gropued MATs. I would suggest attempting to inject one single morph first, like "heavy" and see if that works. If so you've simply got a file reference problem on your hands with the group MATs. Otherwise there's some other problem, in which case you might want to try a full reinstall of the morph packs. I use poser 4 and I do have the morph packs for both figures. I recent got bishoden for m3 and all they give me is a injection for full body or for the head, when i click on the inject i get a load of error messages. I installed the pack into the program so i know the files have to be in the right places. I can't manually inject morphs to the figure. I have no problem with the daz morphs but for the character morphs is where im having the trouble. I hope you guys understand that :P

taco ( ) posted Fri, 16 April 2004 at 7:40 PM

Not sure if this addresses your problem... but for me, if figure 1 isn't V3 then the INJ morphs don't work.

SVicious ( ) posted Sat, 17 April 2004 at 4:04 AM

no i am sure i select figure 1 and body when i try to inject them this is the error message im getting WARNING Cannot open runtime/the morph.pz2 its followed by a good 10 or so of the same error message

You also might try contacting DAZ tech directly. If you are in the USA there's an 800 number. (They are not open on weekends). Otherwise send the tech an email.

"if figure 1 isn't V3 then the INJ morphs don't work." This is common assumption, but it's not completely correct, unfortunately. The figure to be injected has* to be the first figure IN THE SCENE. That means it will typically be Figure 1, but not all figure 1's are the first figure loaded. Do New scene, then load the figure to be injected before loading anything else. A freshly loaded Poser is usable without New only if you have set your own preferences to load to an empty scene - if you delete the default guy to clear the scene, the scene is not truly empty to Poser. (Note this means that 2 injection figures can't be in the same scene, unless one is saved to the library fully injected previously - but see note below). * There is a way around this, Maveris' invention which I termed FII (Figure Independent Injection), but it has it's own set of downsides too. See the link above for more info - including links to other discussions on topic.

"I have no problem with the daz morphs but for the character morphs is where im having the trouble." O.k, so to be clear: The normal DAZ face/body morph injections (ex "FaceRound", "Muscular1") are working properly, but you're trying to use some character and the character's morphs are not injecting properly? If so, what character, and what morphs does it come with?

SVicious ( ) posted Sat, 17 April 2004 at 2:07 PM

well I have seen the muscular morph appear in one of the error meesages the I have been trying to use Bisheoden for m3 and I am unable to load his morphs to the micheal 3 character

taco ( ) posted Sat, 17 April 2004 at 9:24 PM

OK... try this: First you load your M3. Then go to POSES. (My Bishonen is listed as T785). Click on the body type INJ. For me, a window pops up that says: Warning this can't be loaded. I click OK as well as the several others that pop up. In other words... just ignore them! Then I see the M3 figure change. The body morph parameter dials change as well. Most notably, the waist narrows and the upper thighs get narrow. You can adjust the body further with the dials. Next select the eye and lip colors and/or armor. In FACES you can select various face morphs and then adjust them to your liking. This is what works for me... I hope it works for you.

SVicious ( ) posted Sun, 18 April 2004 at 1:57 PM

funny thing is I don't see any new dials at least I don't think i do

taco ( ) posted Sun, 18 April 2004 at 7:13 PM

No new dials... but the numerical settings for the body/head has changed. Do you SEE a difference in the image window?

SVicious ( ) posted Sun, 18 April 2004 at 10:05 PM

no i also found something oddly weird too when i started using the figure I would go to one of my other poses in my pose library and click it and it does not show up it goes to another pose in my library instead of the one i clicked none of that happen until I started trying to work with these figures

taco ( ) posted Mon, 19 April 2004 at 8:05 AM

That doesn't sound good :-( There might be a malfunction somewhere. First try shutting down your PC, wait 20 minutes then reboot. If that doesn't help the situation, try re-loading everything... including Poser. You might also call or email DAZ. Good luck!

layingback ( ) posted Mon, 19 April 2004 at 10:49 AM

Re the wrong pose being applied: Do you have more than 255 poses in your library perchance?

SVicious ( ) posted Mon, 19 April 2004 at 3:05 PM

255 No can't say that i do heh, I have thought of reinstalling poser once more. Well i guess thats the only option I seem to be left with.
