Subject: Joint Parameter Problem

I've been working on a posable striped tie but hit problems when I tried to edit the joint parameters. When I use the first couple of parts of the tie all is well. But with the later parts I find that the joint editor won't let me edit the x-rotate options but forces me into twist mode, even though it says 'x rotate'. Is this a bug or is it me?

heyas; did you use all the same rotation orders for each segment? did you use the curve parameter on any segments? if you used the curve thing, then you can only edit the twist jp for that part. the jp window may be confused, as it tries to keep the same joint selected as you switch parts. so, for example, if you were working on the xrotate (bend) on the one segment, and selected a new segment, the jp window would still keep the xrotate... but that new segment might not have an xrotate, and it got confused. maybe? :)

I definitely used the same rotation orders for each segment and I don't even know how to use the curve parameter. Here's the text of the phi file: objFile :Runtime:Geometries:Maz:stripedtie2.obj 1 knot xyz 2 section1 xyx 3 section2 xyx 4 section3 xyz 5 section4 xyz 6 section5 xyz They don't come much simpler than that.

Hello, If you tie model hangs straight down like most ties then your phi rotation order should 1 knot yzx ect Serpent

Serpent, Thanks, I've never fully understood the significance of the order, I guess I ought to try all permutations to really understand it. Nevertheless, that shouldn't account for some segments behaving differently to the others.
