There's a sample download in a ZBrush forum for a low-poly head and an according displacement map, created in ZBrush. I couldn't resist testing it in Poser 5. So first the base mesh (1360 polys, 1369 verts).

Now the same model rendered with the displacement map and smooth polygons checked. And with < 2k polygons, this renders fast too. Now if I only had the cash for ZBrush... (See the link for the model download.)

Haven't spent much time playing with the newer version of ZBrush yet,but I've had this bookmark for when I do. As it is about useing Poser5,you may find it useful. SWAMP

Yes yes so cool. :) More hopes we can end needing scenes with 100,000 polys.

Wow! Even the veins in the temples. :) The shape of the ear-rim could be a bit smoother. Because of the complex geometry, I'd have used more polys there. But the overall effect is astounding. Carolly

The result is very impressive! I've seen some other examples and it is a very good idea using low resolution models with a good displacement map can make miracles! I like ultra hi res models much and my pc too...
