Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 24 4:20 pm)
Complete instructions are included in the download, but no you don't need python or Poser 5. It works with Poser 4, Poser PP, and Poser 5. It may even work with Poser 3 but I have no way to test that.
Click the link in the above post for a quick preview.
Basically you load the floor.
Place it where you like and give it a texture.
Select the Tile Body Part.
Then just turn the Dial until you get as many tiles as you like.
When you get used to it, you won't want to use Poser without it. I think It's that good.

This thing is the greatest! So well thought out. I'm sorry it stopped seling, Roy. it deserved to be an all time top seller! It is so easy to use and the possibilities with it are truly endless. Apply any seamless texture to it and see it tile :o) I have a large pack of tiles specifically made for Dial-a-Tile in free stuff here, 60 tiles ranging from ordinary tiles to wooden planks and even chicken net.FREEBIES! | My Gallery | My Store | My FB | Tumblr |
You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Hmm link doesn't work, it seems to be too long. HERE s a working version of the link :o)

It works by using "Geometry Switching". I found that when you switch Geometries, you can also switch the UV mapping. Dial-A-Tile switches 40 identical objects that all have different UV mapping. And thanks again for all of your support Trekkie Grrrl. I did make enough on this thing to buy my copy of Poser 5. It had a nice long run, now it's time to just let the masses have it.
Much appreciated Roy (and elegantly clever). Sitting here looking at this and TrekkieGrrrl's Super Morphing Square prop, and wondering if yours could have worked with a denser geometry, allowing for morphs (or even matching her geometry, permitting importing all her morphs)? Aside from remapping your 141, now much larger objects, any technical reason the two shouldn't work together?
Hmm... now there's an idea :o) It could be fun to try.

Hmm... A "Super Morphing Dial-A-Tile"?
Now that's an interesting idea. :) I'll check into it.
Riddokun. There is not a lot of info out there on the subject. Dial-A-Tile came about by studying some of the old Poser 2 figures that used it instead of hand poses. That, and lots of trial and error.
Your welcome to IM me with any specific questions.
I'm not aware of any hard limit on object complexity. Though I did find that Poser seems to like it better if the polygon count remained constant. (Which kinda limits it usefulness)
Keeping the poli count constant also makes it possible to morph the object, and Dial-A-Tile makes use of that.
