Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 24 9:54 am)
Not sure if this would yield the results you want or not, but if you want to give it a try... Pose your figure as you would like it in Poser. Next export it as an object. Import into uvmapper. Use the Edit>Tools>split verticles command option. Save object (if for use in Poser, you can uncheck the export normals as Poser does not use normals. Other 3D ap may). Splitting the verticles will often eliminate smooth edges and may give you the chiseled look you want. You could try this on one of the les res figs as that may give it an even less organic look.

Hi Everyone, I want to create a statue-esque rendering of a Poser figure I've been working on. I suppose to make the figure look more "carved" than organic, an attempt should be made to reduce the geometry (or polygons?) to get that chiseled look. I have tried using P2 and P4 Lo Res figures but they are too low res -- I would like to be able to pose my figure, and perhaps preserve facial expressions. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on how I could achieve this effect? I am using P4 and have Carrara at my disposal, if it would be effective in garnering the desired effect. Thanks! Todd
