I regularly haunt the Zbrushcentral forum(just for modelling tips really( and (I don't really understand this) they get very excited by displacement maps. As I understand it; it SEEMS to be a way to increase (or add) object details on low poly figures. Poser 5s' material room supports displacement right? So does P5 support the kind of thing that the Zbrushers are talking about. And anyone got a tutorial?

Poser 5's displacement is micropolygon displacement. Don't know if it's like Zbrush's, but it will displace with more detail than polygons on the figure. You plug in a grayscale map (2D Bitmap) to the Displacement channel in the Material room just like you would a bump map. Now if only LW and C4D would get the hint. What's the use of displacement maps if you need 30 billion real points for it to work? Kuroyume

P5's displacement is Exactly the sort of thing that zbrush does -- in fact, once it's more broadly used, you'll likely see a great many displacement maps available as the possibility is pretty incredible -- on both high and low resolution figures. Regular displacement simply moves the polys themselves, while the kind involved here is as noted above -- it sort of changes the surface of the polygon by breaking it down even finer in the rendering engine. The underlying engine that makes firefly work is of the sort that handles displacement better than it does ray tracing -- and it's very, very good at displacement.

Get the Zbrush Practical Guide, there's a section about using Z2 displacment maps in P5(22mb download PDF)...

I tried one of the ZBrush 2 demo files in P5 a while ago. Actally, it's even easier than described in the "practical guide", you don't need two separate maps for positive and negative displacement.
