The pics look amazing but what exactly is a flame and stuff. Do u just use pure randomness to create them?

Laver2k, fractals are generated using mathematical equations that reiterate themselves, meaning the equation repeats over and over again adding tiny variations each time. The mathematical equation is mapped to pixels by color and location. I'd suggest doing a google search for fractals and doing some reading that way. There are hundreds of great sites out there describing what exactly a fractal is.

There is a very good explaination of what fractal are at this link. There are many types of fractals, but not all show self-similarity. I recommend you read this page from top to bottom because it has good information, IMO. Flame fractals are a type of IFS (iterated function systems). There is also an explanation of flame fractals here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fractal_Flames Hope this helps. I think it would be a good idea to add these links for everyone to see. Barbara
