Subject: Parent figure to which body part?

Francemi ( ) posted Sat, 17 July 2004 at 7:40 AM · edited Sun, 20 October 2024 at 5:07 PM

If I want to use a clothing item on a figure and that item is not made for that figure, I parent it instead of conform, right? In the case of a dress, to which body part should I parent it so that it follows the moves of the body? Thanks. France

If its a mini skirt or a bikini you can sometimes get away with parenting it to the hip or chest and selecting the "bend with Parent option". However when a clothing item covers more than three body parts then your only real option is to convert it to conforming clothing set up to match the new figure.

Edit: If you have Poser 5 you also have the option of using the Cloth Room.

If you're doing stills, you can pose the clothing around the figure so that any poke-through is on the side away from the camera (where it isn't seen).
