Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 21 6:06 am)
Sorry, I couldn't resist the title :) Definitely one to remember, thanks. This has happened to me before, but I ended up giving up. Too bad I can't remember which items they were now, and go back to them...

I and several other people have been having a different but similar problem in saving smart propped items to the library -- in my case, I use various wave deformers and sometimes get that weird "leftover" item -- annoys the heck out of me...

both, actually -- which is what's making it so damned difficult to track down as an issue so I can solve it overall. And on occasion I'm getting no dial, but still have a reference that comes up on it. CR2Builder is pretty nice overall -- I'l have to try fiddling with it to make it work.

Thought I would share this little mystery, just in case anyone else runs into it. I am using Poser Pro and the prop in question used a called object from the geometry folder. Here is the bit of mystery. I could not get the prop to save to the Prop library. I got an empty file instead. I could save it okay as a pz3 and it loaded fine. I could smart prop it to a figure and save it as a cr2 and it loaded fine. I could not save it to the prop library, even after checking the path, resaving the file to a new name, and everything else I tried. Then I happened to notice that I had a mag1 dial. This no doubt was left over from one of the morphs I had made that did not clear out proper. So, I took the cr2 I had with the prop parented to my figure and using Cr2Builder I deleted the leftover mag1 reference. Now, either that or the fact that I saved it from Cr2Builder did the trick - I am thinking getting rid of the mag1 ref was the solution since I had already tried saving it from cr2builder and morphmanger already - thinking that alone might fix the prob. Anyhow, still not one hundred percent sure what caused this or what fixed it, other than what I mentioned. Thought if this happened to someone else, maybe my little mystery here might help them solve theirs. :O)
