Check your file format preferences...make sure that .gif format is checked. Then when saving, click 'save as' and on that new window that pops up, scroll thru the list of formats until you see .gif ;) Hope that helps

![avatarrendo.gif](http://www.hosting-hub.com/filedeposit/uploads/27062004/avatarrendo.gif) Thanks for the reply, it's not that I can;t save as Gif, it's that I can only pick from "Selective" and "Web" and such but not "Exact"...

Exact Creates a palette using the exact colors appearing in the RGB image--an option available only if the image uses 256 or fewer colors. the reason that it's not an option is that you have designed / painted with more than 256 specific colours. an exact file / .gif can't hold anymore than that much info. I don't know why you have chosen to change the "image mode" when you can just save for web. I like those "local" ones , i'm not sure which one is the best. I have a feeling it's selective.

Have you seen the Web saving? It's like a bad 80's retro graphic. Thanks for the info.
