Subject: Error when opening Poser Pro?

Turtle ( ) posted Wed, 15 September 2004 at 4:23 PM · edited Mon, 29 July 2024 at 7:54 PM

My Poser is putting out an error when I open it up. It says, Cannot open Runtime/scripts/Lights and Cameras. I check ok and then it works like always? I have Poser Pro. Anyone know what to do and why this is doing the error??? Thank you for any help you can give me.

Hi Turtle, before you do a new install, try setting the prefered state again. Go to Edit>General Preference, and set the Preferred State (basically make the default window your prefered state or set up a new scene like you want it, and save that as the default). If you look in the runtime:Prefs folder you will see a pz3 file called preferredState.pz3 This is what loads on start up. My guess is the existing pz3 file that loads on start up got corrupted. Setting a new Preferred State will create a new pz3 and hopefully fix this problem. If it doesn't, than something else probably is corrupted and you will need to reinstall.

I just did the restall of only the Poser Pro. and the up date service pack. Works fine now. Of course I had to remove all those dumb cartoon people. :O)) Thanks for the help. Under the scripts I was missing the camera and lights. I looked before and after.
