So I'm a victim of the renderosity gestapo now am I? I post a message about Mike Burns' new book Digital Sci Fi Art and it's now missing as if it never existed... this, despite the fact THAT IT FEATURES WORK FROM ARTISTS ON RENDEROSITY.COM AND CREDITS RENDEROSITY.COM IN THE SOURCES SECTION AT THE END OF THE BOOK VERY CLEARLY! NOT TO MENTION CURIOUS LABS AND MOST OF THE APPS FEATURED BY THIS SITE!!!!!! no explanation, no reasoning, just gone... ...and ClintH and the gang probably wonder why people get pissed off at the way this site is run...

Well I checked the mount doom where posts are trashed and members records don't find anything about it there. Which forum did you post it in that might helps us find what happened to it. and what date did you post it. SndCastie Renderosity Moderator

Hi SeanE, I don't know if someone moved it or if you posted it in the Product Showcase forum yourself, but there is a post about the book in there by you. If it was moved, you should have received an im from the person who moved it letting you know where it was. Link to your post attached. Congratulations on being in the book, I'll have to check it out sometime. Shoshanna.

there are lots of rendo' members and their pics featured in the book along with tuts written by most of them.

Here's a cover shot of the book

Tuts? Hmmm... I'll have to track the book down... not just to recommend to beginners, but I can always learn something, too. :)

No, actually the little cough was because I've been mentoring, training, giving workshops, etc. since the early 80's... my way of passing on what other artists had shared with me.

Exactly - and here's me telling you what tuts means! Embarrassed or what?!!!

Back in 1982, I was artist-in-residence for a week at an elementary school (a special program). One of the 4th graders asked "How do you keep from making mistakes?" Somehow he'd been given the idea that adults were perfect. I pulled out 5 different sorts of erasers from my toolbox and held them up. "Adults make mistakes... we just try to fix them before others see them." And sometimes mistakes lead to delightful accidents: I know one watercolor artist who starts by spilling stuff haphazardly and then 20 minutes later has a wonderful nature piece with rocks, branches and small wild things peeking out as she prods, sweeps, and blows on the mess. When she dampens the paper, she has no idea what is going to happen or if it will be worth saving, but she goes ahead anyway. We wouldn't be chatting if you hadn't posted....
