The service pack error is caused when you let it pick the folder to install it to, click the browse button & find the poser folder yourself (it's the same one the updater finds but hates). When was the last time you defragged your harddrive? Poser does like to have plenty of room when running to spread itself out & if your harddrive looks like my sock drawer ( stuff everywhere) then it'll kick up a fuss. Have you used CorrectReference recently? using it to sort out the texture references in poser will speed it up nicely too.Windows 7 64Bit
Poser Pro 2010 SR1
Yes I just used correctref pro, and it found like 3300 bad references lol (my runtime folder is 20 GB), so i was hopeful that would improve things. It DID speed up poser in general but for some reason any MAT file i click on still takes forever to load. And I mean FOREVER lol... even changing the face MAT on a character is 7-8 minutes of loading =( I can't work like this I really hope I can figure out what is wrong. It's hard to believe a complete fresh install didn't help. I probably should defrag, it's been a while, but that isn't going to be what fixes it (since poser is fast for loading CR2s but can't seem to load props or MATs in under 10 minutes). Really stumped on this one...

Well all of the sudden my Poser Pro is running incredibly slow... this is really bizarre and all I can think of is that I was away for a few weeks and now I'm back on my main work machine and for some reason it takes like 10 minutes to load MAT files and many props... even extremely simple ones. Now I did a complete wipe of Poser and started over, installed Poser4, then 4.03, then Pro Pack, then the memory upgrade (I have 1.5 GB of RAM). Service Pack 3 for Poser Pro won't install on my system it says "no valid poser pro installation found" which is ridiculous, but oh well their loss- I hear it does that to just about everybody. Even after the total reinstall Poser is performing extremely slowly. I have a 3.2 ghz system with a 400 mhz board, and right now it's almost too slow to even be used at all. Anyone have any idea why it might be running so slowly or what system tweaks I might try? Thanks, Brian
