Lot's of people use universe for lights and skys in space scenes. No smoothing, but what the free version does it does very well.I second those recommendations; The Gimp http://www.gimp.org/ CinePaint http://cinepaint.sourceforge.net/ Project Dogwaffle http://www.squirreldome.com/cyberop.htm AS

I don't have Photoshop or any commercial programs for postwork. I have IrfanView and RES, which are both free, but all they can really do are simple effects like contrast, colors, merging, etc. Can anyone recommend a good free program for postwork on 3D images? I'm specifically loooking for something that can smooth Bryce's trees...
