Okay, there are poser library files. Cr2 for character, pp2 for prop, etc. They're text files. they may have the model embedded, but usually ref it and the textures associated with it. you open this up in Notepad. the file will tell you the path to where the model or texture is supposed to be, ally you have to do is a text find. then look for it with Windows Explorer to make sure it gets to where it's supposed to be.

You can download a free utility called "Correct Reference" at the link. (There is a paid-for version - CRPro - with more features, but the freebie is a good starting place.) Usually when you download a freebie the artist will have zipped the file to keep the paths intact. If you open it in Winzip you should see that the paths are there, probably starting with "Runtime/Libraries/hair" etc. Sometimes freebie providers put all their items in an enclosing "MyFreebie" folder. Then you have to take out the contents and manually place them in your Poser directories. Also many older freebies weren't zipped like this and you have to place the items yourself. If you click the "Poser Forum FAQ" link at the top of the page, there is an explanation of file types and where to put everything. Hope this helps :)"you are terrifying

I am new and am having problems with the files I have d/led. I just got poser 4, and I have been browsing different sites and have d/led some freebies, and some other files I have, I see em in poser but it has a figure holding it's hands up and the files aren't really there. Is there a utility or something that will move these files to the correct places? I have tried with a tutorial I found on file locations, but am having no luck, poser seems a bit messed up now and I really need some help here.I am on dialup and don't wanna have to uninstall this, and red/l all those files again.
