Subject: Creating dynamic clothing

MiddleEarthNet ( ) posted Mon, 01 November 2004 at 12:57 PM ยท edited Tue, 11 February 2025 at 12:05 AM

I've worked out how to create obj files and import them into to P5, but what I really need is to be able to create dynamic clothing. There is a very particular look of clothes I want so I'll do it myself. Does anyone know of any tutorials that will help me to create dynamic clothes, or of a program (free prefered, but cheap will do) that would also help me do it. Thanks.

Poserfashion.net has some excellent tutorials for it. I think svdl did some good ones as well (though I may be wrong). Tool that's cheap. You could do it in Wings, but doing so is a bit of a challenge. Silo would likely be a better choice, as it supports nurbs like curves, which are better for creating the single sided meshes that dynamic clothing requires.

Thanks. I'll take a look at poserfashion. Where can I find the ones that svdl did?

The reason I may be wrong is that I seem to recall hearing about some but have not seen them myself, and don't see Elle online right now to ask her (ynsaen) if she's seen them and has a link.

Thanks. I've looking at the ones at poserfashion now. so I'll start there. I'll keep my eye open for ynsaen.

I'm certain that there are at least two othe sets of tutes out there that are just as good -- and I alos think svdl was one of them, but don't have a link, I'm afraid. :(

Attached Link: http://www.philc.net/tutorial4.htm

PhilC has a few very good tutorials about dynamic clothing, the one at the link is about converting poser 4 clothing but some of the information is very useful for making and using your own clothes. The harem costume and halter dress ones are good, too.
