Subject: How does the importer work?

Using MacOX.3.6, Bryce 5.02. Ok So how do I get my Poser stuff in now from Daz|Studio?

Go to the Edit menu in DAZ|Studio and select Preferences. The dialog box will enable you to tell DAZ|Studio which directories to search for Poser content, and the eligible files can be imported automatically.

Now I have a question: Will DAZ|Studio accept *.pz3 files, such as those available from Gerald Day's site? Or does one have to run Poser 4 in the Classic environment for this?

I have used a lot of pz3 files with not a bit of problem, not sure about Gerald Day's stuff but should work. In order to export from D|S to bryce after you get your scene set select export in the files menu.

Export the scene from daz studio as a wavefront object using export for bryce. Then load the object into bryce. If your copy of daz studio doesn`t have the export for bryce option, then you probably need to download the newer version of daz studio.

Thank you everyone. It seems to work really well with poser 4 and Pro. Now If I can just get an importer for Carrara Studio that handles the materials like Bryce. I've never been able to get the dang eyes right in Carrara.

Quite a few poser figures (especially the daz ones) have an outer eye coating that has to be made transparent when the figure is imported into another 3d program. Specularity should be made high on the outer eye coating, too.
