this OLED... my husband was telling me they've made one like this about 1 mm. in thickness. he says you roll 'em up...like a sheet of paper, but that these were used for demonstration purposes only.
remember the movie Mission to Mars? They showed a display like this...but in the movie, they didn't actually use a real one. they used some kind of special effects or something.
he says the only company that's used this particular display massively is Kodak in their digital cams. of course, the ones in Kodak digital cams don't roll up...obviously. it was mainly used bcuz it uses extremely low amount of electricity (saves on battery).

Ohhh no ... not again. It was from The Korea Times that I first learned about the Mitsubishi AdobeRGB monitor. Drooled over it for months and then Mitsubishi goes and prices it at $5000. I'm not even going to look ... nope ... nope ... ooooooo ... wonder if it can be calibrated with current technology. drool

I know I do! A sniglet from the article... "Samsung Electronics said the next-generation flat panel screen features exceptionally high picture resolution of 6.22 million pixels and an outstanding contrast ratio of 5,000 to 1. The AM OLED also boasts unmatched brightness of 1,000 nit, more than twice as bright as existing LCD screens."
