Hi, I would like to ask if it is possible to copy the runtime folder without loosing the stuff I have inside, and how to do that? I have installed Poser 5 on D instead of C and want my things to follow:-))). Hugs Elin.

You should be able just to copy the Runtime folder over. You might want to at least run CorrectReference to be sure everything works properly. You don't really need us to tell you how to copy a folder? When in doubt, use a good file manager program. I'm partial to Powerdesk Pro 6 myself.

Just copying the folder over should do the trick. Some freebies have a hard coded location that specify a drive/directory instead of pointing to the Runtime folder. CorrectReference (a freebie utility) can be run to help sort out those problems.

Hit "yes to all". "Thumbs.db" is just the thumbnail cache...it will be created again....you don't need it.

How is this a benefit?

Well it's not really a benefit for people that have a lot of images. I only mentioned it because some don't like all those "Thumbs.db" if they move files and folders around a lot (if you notice I don't have it checked as I prefer to use it). What it does is cache the images of your thumbnails so they display faster. Without it you'll still see your thumbnails it just takes longer for them to load/display.

I've noticed those things even come with items I've just installed, or in zip files of stuff I've downloaded or bought. Hey, in that case, the little bugger(s) come from someone else's computer. I don't need someone else's helpers.

I use Thumbsplus for my thumbnails, so I don't need that extra stuff.

I delete all the thumbs.db I find in any zip before extracting. AS well as any .jpgs that have an ad pic in them...HD space is precious.
