THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Cannon fire

A friend is in Director's view and has two ships facing off, parallel to each other. She wants cannon fire to come from each ship but can't get the correct effect. Sometimes the mat is not completely filling her primitive. I also get the same problem when messing with cloud mats. Is there a trick for either of these? Thanks

Usually cloud mats are world space. They have a transparency component generated by the DTE. Because of the world mapping there will always be clear spots in the same place. If these line up with your primative you don't see anything. Try clicking on the first button on top of the material box and increase the x,y,z, scale.

Electroglyph is wise. Plus there's a couple tutorials on that stuff out there.

i made a cannon animation a while ago, (See link) just used a sphere and cloud texture, took the shadows all off, decreased the treansparancy, and upped the ambience.

Experience is no substitute for blind faith.
