Subject: Poser tutorial How To Make Upturned Hand

Hi-
In the Poser5 manual page 68 Applying A Shader
Step 1. Pose your figure with an upturned hand........

This is the first time posing anything has come up. I feel the process necessary to fulfill the request is a trifle vague.

Could anyone tell me how to turn her left hand properly?

I've looked around the manual and the pdf file. There seems to be a wealth of information on what can be done and precious little on how to do it.

In separate post, I'm will provide a summary of my views on the quality of a mere three pages of the manual.

Thanks - Jim

Twist the fore-arm until the palm is up. If you look at your hand, you'll notice you can't twist it much, independent of fore-arm twisting.

Have you tried selecting the hand and then adjusting the twist parameter dial?philc_agatha_white_on_black.jpg

the max and min dial of the hand is 3 to -3, you can do much with it. Naturally if you look and your own hand and arm as an example. to turn the hand you have to turn your form arm. Adjusting the forearm twist parameter dial is more appropriate.

I want to thank you all for the input.

I thought that the arm was a better move than the hand but I wasn't sure how to get it going.

However, I'm in the catbird seat now. :-)
I've also added another gloss to the annotated manual I'm writing as I go. :-)

Hope I can keep the pleas for help to small bites.

Jim
