Subject: Full / partial body morphs

Have been playing around with Daz characters and Morph Manager, deleting unused morphs to streamline files (looking to create animation with multiple Mil3 characters and props). So far I have created either full or partial body morphs and deleting channels and morphs, shrinking Mil 3 figures to a mere 5MB. But they have no expressions - smiling, eyes blinking etc. I re-inject expressions which bloat the files to 20MB unclothed, untextured.

I guess my question is - (1) what is the relationship between morphs and channels (I'm thinking morphs should work if channels are available; so far my attempts have been unsuccessful), (2) what is the best way to create expressive characters with minimum file size or (3) is the barley and hops soda causing me to chase concepts that can't yet be realized?

Thanks in advance

The Mil3 figures are heavy on head polygons, so small file size may be incompatible with expressiveness. There must be a minimum number of morphs needed for that, although I wouldn't hazard a guess as to how many right now... Would the reduced resolution characters be suitable for your work? I find them fine for everything except close-ups.
