Hi, I am making a water plane and would like to animate it, would I use a wave modifier, And if so how would I do this. Any other suggestions Thanks

I would use the modifier if animating ripples in a small pond and use a terrain with a dune setting to animating waves in the ocean.

You can animate it using shaders too. With the Four Elements Shaders> Water: Ripples or Waves bump. On the first keyframe you set the Compelion parameter at 0% and the last keyframe put it on 100%. Adjust the type of wave you want and good luck.
