I want to hide the roots of the trees in Bryce. Does someone knows any trick to do this ?

Yes, sink it into the ground :)

I need some trees without roots, because I want to use them as branches for make a big tree. I had sank then in the main trunk ;-) but they still appear here and there.

Try that. Scratched that together a while ago for someone else that was trying to do the same thing. Thats my method of doing it - i.e. use an alpha map to "cut off" the bottom of the tree (worked on my ents with guns pic). Hope it helps.

Thanks a lot Flak. As you say in the tut, you have to play a bit whit the alpha maps position, but it works great. Now, lets see if I can get some real big trees with this trick. Juani

Actually that was the same idea I used in my metaball oak trees I did some time ago. The file for the tree was too large to use in most scenes except in very small numbers :)
