Ok, I now have the OBJ file ready. All items have been named to related to the poser dork. Now my next attempt will be to take the poser male cr2. file and edit so it will work for the helmet. How do I do this? I open it up in the CR2 editor and what do I remove. I see all the poser dork body parts but they are duplicated. Is this for the different side of the body? What do I remove and how do I have the cr2 relate to the Helmet.obj file. Do I edit the path in the cr2 file and point the path to the new file?

Open the Dork CR2 file in a text editor and search for the two instances of the object file path (search "OBJ" should find them). Edit both these to point to your new object file which must be within the Geometries folder. Save with a new name. Now loading your new CR2 within Poser should get you the figure. The CR2 will contain a bunch of stuff you don't need and may be further edited. To do this go to the hidden Poser folder and run; safetyNet.exe, asbestosGloves.dll and kevlar.jkt :) Good luck philc_agatha_white_on_black.jpg

O.K., step 1 is to load your file in CR2 Editor and make the changes Phil mentioned, to point to your file (Note 1) Then delete all body parts except BODY, upneck and head, as shown (pick th eline, hit delete and Enter in quick order, else you will be here all day!) Do this for both the upper and lower listings of the parts. Then (Note 2) go into the upNeck and change as shown. so its parent is the BODY, not the neck. (This will be continued on 2 more pasts so I can get the pics in)

Next... Go in the channels section of the head and delete all the unnecessary channels, like eye blink, nose squash, evil grin, and so on. Actually, you can do this in the Hiearch editor in Poser, but you it is easier here. While your at it you can do the same for the upneck, and BODY, or you can do this whole part later, after you see the item in Poser and find unnecessary dials.

Next... Down in the figure section remove all of the materials, as shown (or rather they aren't shown, because thay are gone!) (Note 1) Then (Note 2) change the default pick to the head (you did name the group of the helmut "head" didn't you?) Remove all the "weld" command lines, because the head will be the only actual part, the upNeck is just a positioner, it doesn't have any mesh. Note 3 - make the upNeck a child of the BODY, remove all the other childern lines for the parts that aren't there any more. Note 4 - you can change the name here, if you like, or do it in Poser. You will aso have to turn bending off for the helmet too, I did that in Poser, just pick it and get properties, and turn it bending off. That should do it, I can't recall anything else, oh- save the CR2 as helmet.cr2 in the library folder, too. Once you've done this a coulp of times you can do it in a couple-5 minutes.
