My user objects file is corrupted C:Program FilesCorelBryce 5PresetsObjectsUserUser.obp is there any way to repair the above file? I think it happened when it got inturrupted while adding a object to it :(

At this point most people end up deleting the user.obp file. I usually back up each object individually as I go along so that I can rebuild when this happens. If you backup all your user obp's as one file, it is humongous. I think this happens because windows does not defrag the obp files when it defrags.

well luckily, I still have the origional bryce saves I added the objects from, so I have that option. Deleting the file will cause it to be rebuilt right?

why do u think that groin? is there something special about that file? windows just sees zeros and ones me thinks. i think bryce messes up itself if the file gets too big. read something along these lines in previous threads about corrupted User.obp files as it happens often

for some free stuff i made
and for almost daily fotos

Remeber for each thing you delete from a object category that you are only deleting the thumb for that object and the 'actual' object stays in the category. When the file gets too big Bryce goes wonky on it and you find you have corrupted obp files. You are also limited to only 36 objects per category, if you get bigger than that the file gets weird, better to create another category. How many categories(i.e. my objects, their object, dl objects etc) did you have under user? Or how many objects were in your user.obp?

If you delete from within Bryce, then you are only deleting the thumb. If you browse to the folder in windows then delete the user.obp file you will delete the whole enchilada so it can be rebuilt from scratch. The reason I say windows does not defrag the files is because windows defrag tells me so with an error message each time I run it. Am I the only one experiencing this message??

I defrag once a month and have never rec'd a message about those files, go figure
