I need to create a mock up of a wristband with recessed text and I'm wondering if it's possible to do it in Bryce. I already have the wristband model, I'm just not sure how to go about getting the text to look recessed. If anyone has any ideas, I would very much appreciate it. Thanks!! p.s. I've attached a photo of the livestrong band so you can see what I'm trying to create.

You could probably use a bump map, I'll see if I can work it out.

Here's a quick tutorial...

(1) Create your text as black on a white background (I used paint for this one), and save as a bmp.

(2) Click in the fist spare channel for bump map.

(2a) Click the P (next to 4 on the diagram) to change the texture into a picture.

(3) Import the text picture into the second (value) channel.

(4) Click the downwards triangle at the bottom of the texture box, and choose object front.

(5) Set the bump height value to -100 (or whatever you want).

(6) Render

Bump map would do it quick. You could actually recess the text using booleans but that would be more work.
