Wow! This is nice Donald. "you can really see it in the full sized image" I've found when doing this sort of thing (for images to be displayed on the screen) that one really has to reduce to the displayed size before applying the effects. Lose sharpness in the "brush detail" otherwise. I've not tried printing such things; wonder what is the best sizing strategy?
Well, fell asleep right around midnight. Going to be a wonderful 10hour shift. :/ Misha - You know, it's kind of funny ... I get the feeling that people think I do a lot more (and I mean a LOT more) Photoshop postwork on my images than I really do. And not just talking about this image. Anyway, no brushwork here ... no smudging .. in fact, no tools at all (or artistic filters). All done with 3 layers: 1) Base photo layer 2) Copy of base photo layer with blur and curve adjustment applied and blending mode set 3) S-curve adjustment layer for contrast Saturated colors and rich blacks attributed to the blending mode. Tedzo - You are full of such wonderful advice. A real pal! :) Jack - Ummm ... maybe next time. But only if you promise to cut out that 6 year period where you were a tap-dancing mime in a polyester leisure suit. :) -=>Donald
Really nice...... was this with no flash? Love all that motion going on behind her.
I am, therefore I create.......

you musta made it through the day as you've posted again since here :] i'm just late... well... really i'm a day early, thought it was the 1st already... haven't had much sleep either... can you tell? lol... oh... this one is ~h o t~ too but not as much as the other one, after this one... that would be today, not yesterday... ehhhhhhhhhhhh :D
'chelle - Correct, no flash. Probably half second exposure. I let the flames act like a rear curtain sync. I don't think I was set with this one, looking at the excessive movement. Last one I posted is closer to what I was trying to do. Cyn - Okay, we're going to have to cut you off and ask you to leave if you get rowdy. :) I just woke up ... I can't follow that kind of logic. :) -=>Donald

Anyway, after laying in bed for an hour thought I'd just screw with a throw away image until I got tired or bored or whatever. Anyway, after playing around for a few minutes I came up with this. Amazed me with how much it looked like a watercolor image (you can really see it in the full sized image). This image, by the way, is from the Cirque de Flambe show. Finally whittled the images down to 397 from 1712. Now just need to do a second time through and then process.
Ah well, gonna try to go sleep again. Saw a few messages I want to reply too, but really need to force myself to get some sleep or it's gonna be a very long day tomorrow.
