Hi all, can someone please help me, I downloaded svdl Dynamic kimono for Victoria 3. And I cant work out how to open it..The kimono can worn "closed" or "open". The default is "closed" If you want to have the kimono fall open, add the "Lock" group to the default vertex group. If you want to change it back to "closed", add the Lock group to the soft decorated vertex group....This is from the read me..But im lost can someone please give me some screen shoots on how to do this..Thank you all very much for your time and help..

From the description, it sounds like it's a Dynamic Cloth object. Do you have Poser 5? Those directions sound like they'd be for the cloth room in Poser 5.

Ok, give me a few minutes. I didn't have the file, so I just downloaded, and I'll work through the readme. Shouldn't take too long ;) Hopefully I'll be able to help you. :D

Hi, ford3auss, I'm having problems with my cloth room right now, but I'll try again in a while. In the meantime, hopefully, someone will read this thread and help you out. :D

Parent the kimono to V3. Create a new simulation in cloth room, add the kimono to the simulation (1. in cloth Room). Let it colide against V3 (2. in cloth room). Then you can edit the groups (3. in cloth room). Edit Dynamic Group -> Click "Add Group" -> select Lock(P). If this doesn't help you, you should look for tutorials about the cloth room first.

Actually, I also had problems with that. Unfortunately, neither the manual nor the tutorials I was able to find (Sergemarck, Nerd, PhilC) shed too much light on the editing of dynamic groups, how to keep buttons from becoming dynamic, etc. And I have yet to see any screen cap of these settings so, Dizzi, if you know of any other tutorials I, for one, would be very appreciative :)

Online Now!

svdl is great, but unfortunately this ent one of his/her better offerings :'-( Here's how I got it to work; Before ya even go to the cloth room (i.e; in Pose room), open the Groupin' tool. I made 2 props outta the one (separate belt; I couldn't get it to work nicely). Select the Belt group, hit Spawn Prop & name it. Now hit Invert Selection, Spawn Prop, & name it. Now here's the kicker; on yr new beltless Kimona, find the group Lock & hit Remove All. Double check the group Sleeve to make sure everytin is included, then head to the Cloth room. To use the new Belt, collide it against the new Kimona (don't parent), & set a few verts near the beltloops to Constrained. Final note; It seemed that no matter how many drape frames I tried, it would not open fully by simply Draping...I had to actually pose Vicky to get it to open. Good luck 8-)

I was just coming to post that I was having problems with this, too, LOL. Thanks, FreeBass! I'm going to try that out, and hopefully, that will help ford3auss, as well!
